Delicious chicken a la placha with rice & beans & fried plantains—all very good. The vegetable burrito was not very good, on the other hand. A nice selection of beer and tasty sangria. Ambiance could be better but the staff are lovely.

Delicious food! Waitress spoke English well and they accepted US cash at a good exchange rate if that is important to you.

In the heart of downtown Atenas. Serves up typical costa rican fare at slightly higher prices in a cozy little bistro like setting. Service is generally good, although can be a bit sluggish at times.

everyone raves about the dinner. I was here for breakfast. The bacon is some kind of baked spam. Eggs are undercooked. The jam with the toast was the better food.
However, excellent espresso and latte made with love!

What an amazing breakfast! I seriously have never tasted eggs like I had here! We had the Simple Plate, which was fruit and Gallo Pinto (rice and beans, fried plantain, scrambled eggs, homemade corn tortilla, and queso), and it was delicious. Simple, great flavors, wonderful old building, and very friendly staff!

Very well seasoned stakes, natural juices are of the highest quality. Not very well decorated and the name is missleading: we expected a retro Costa Rican feel which wasn't quite there. Plate choices vary from $6 to $10
