This cafe located in the national theater which is the best historical architecture in Costa Rica. Interior and setting is beautiful. Nice paintings on the ceiling. Foods tastes nice and hip. Black coffee costs 1000 colones. It is the famous Brit coffee, I guess. Though the taste is too sour and aroma is not impressively good.

Nice little coffee shop just inside the doors of the National theatre. Some unique choices for hot or iced coffees, with pretty decadent dessert choices (meals available too). Prices comparable to any Starbucks (15usd for 2 flavored iced capuccinos plus a dessert) but this is a much nicer and quieter place to take a break and enjoy your coffee. Service was friendly and very attentive.

Amazing little cafe in the National Theater building! We enjoyed two delicious drinks, the Cafe de Alma and the Cafe Montanas Alta. Both came in a beautiful presentation and were the perfect afternoon pick me up. The antique decor left us in awe. Great spot!

Grand cafe, great coffee with an old world atmosphere. Really friendly and accommodating staff. If you have time get a ticket to look around the theatre.

Not cheap, but if you want your coffee in peace and in style in the National Theater building this is the place for you. It steps back 100 years.
