Great place to visit. Lots of stuff in a small area. Decent for the size of the place and city. Warm people and nice environment. Be prepare for unexpected rain. Have fun! 😉
Beautiful and well equipped zoo. I was surprised with the amount of animals that were actually present. Some other zoos always are like "under construction" "lion is eating" "zebra died" but this zoo had on display all the species they offered.
The animals seemed to be in good condition. The green areas were super well treated and clean.
We met a kid named Jacobo, he served as a kind of mini guide and he knew everything about every corner of the Santa Fe Zoo. He was very sweet and smart.
Very cool for kids, have restaurant on site, and bathrooms are clean.
I liked it but its small. Good place to take the kids to get out of the house for an hour or so. The animals looked as if they could be more cared for although other than that I had a good time.
Delightful zoo, good selection of animals which are well cared for. Nicely laid out, well signposted and easy to get around. Children’s play area. Good selection of food and snacks, excellent coffee bar. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful zoo with a great staff. The staff throughout the zoo, including the women collecting the entrance fee, greeted us with a smile and were helpful throughout. Bravo to the staff. The zoo was very clean and well organized. They have bear claw prints on the ground that lead you around the zoo. There is a wide variety of animals and they all looked healthy and well fed. The butterfly exhibit was a large enclosure that you entered and there were different species of butterflies everywhere. The cost was $14,000 Pesos ($5 U.S.). What a deal. My friends and really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend visiting the zoo.
I loved the zoo it was a good day hanging out there with family that matters
Let's start by saying that there is a zoo in the middle of the city in a very urbanized neighborhood. In that order of ideas you can't expect a huge zoo. There you'll find a lot of monkeys and frogs, they also have fat wild cats and a beautiful place to see butterflies. One the other hand they only have a few of big mammals. Bisons and hippos are the most outstanding animals there, but they used to have rinhos, elephants and gorillas that doesn't exist anymore. In conclusion, it's a good zoo to start if you haven't visited another big zoo in the world.
This is not a zoo. This place is used to rehabilitate animals and return them to the wild. They don't have the same animals all the time; animals come in and out.
This zoo is a sad state of affairs. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see a jaguar confined to a tiny cage, an animal that normally has a territory of miles. The jaguar was pacing back and forth erratically which is not normal behavior. Other animals like the lion and anteater looked distressed as well. I did not see much evidence that this zoo prioritizes animal welfare. Please do not support this zoo. One redeeming factor of this zoo: I had the BEST cup of coffee in all of Colombia in the little coffee hut that's near the hippo and lion enclosure. A surprising find!
Beautiful zoo, recommended for visitors in Medellín. It's very organized, with many kinds of animals. There are a zone for creating consciousness about the extinction of animals which it's very impressive and creative. The entrance spend 7000 COP for children and 14000 COP for others.
Clean, organise and good guides. Only thing needs to improve is the restaurant and food. It is just okay!
A nice zoo, amazing to see wild macaws and iguanas roaming the zoo. Good variety and viewing areas. Some parts could be better maintained but overall well worth it.
Loved this zoo! It has so many animals (that actually come out or are visible when you're there), and beautiful plants/trees that provide a nice amount of shade during hot weather :)
Much better than I expected. Obviously you'll see caged animals, but they're well maintained by quite qualified staff. The space is outstanding, considering it's in the middle of an urban area.
