    Wow.
    Unlike nothing I’ve ever experienced.
The horseback ride to the top of the viewing area is thrilling and moving as you see such wonderful views of The Valley below and the tallest palms rise from the mountainside next to you.
We even had the wonderful experience here f seeing the South American Condor fly by us multiple times as it maneuvered the air streams!
    Something not to be missed.
    Something to be repeated.

One of the most beautiful views I have seen. 60ft tall trees towering over an incredibly Valley. From town it's a Willy's jeep ride (COP $4000pp). When you get there you have 2 options. Straight up the hill, this way you walk through the valley of the palm first (and if you don't want to do the whole 5/6 hour loop can can turn back at any point as you've seen the main attraction in the first hour). Or you can turn right at the Blue gate and you walk along a tour farm, see the valley from a distance (beautiful!!!!) then walk though forest for a while before getting to the hummingbird cafe, then you walk 800m up a hill (which I thought was easier than walking down it) and after that you get to the valley of the waxed palms. it wasn't a hard hike but really enjoyable. Either way there is an entrance fee of $3000. Bring a snack and lots of water and enjoy!

Amazing experience! A must visit in this region of Colombia, and high on my list for the whole country. Unique trees you don’t find in many other places, and common to take a horseback ride up to different views of the valley. We took the short 1.5 hour ride, but there are longer ones available too. Highly recommended!

Magnificent. Awesome. What a spectacular gift of the nature and God. The highest palms in the world that grow up above the sea level. There are good restaurants, camping area, trout lakes and horses for riding. The weather is cool and cold in the nights.

Just plain beautiful. The horseback riding was reasonably priced and even the half hour ride was breathtaking.

Breathtaking views and only place in Salento to witness the wax palm trees up close! Highly recommend you to come here to visit.

The hike up the mountain may take a few hours so keep yourself prepared with water and snacks! There is also very poor signage throughout the home so be careful. In order to go around, you first have to go up the hill and around the closed sign in order to get to the other side. We didn't do that because we thought it was a sign to prohibit us from walking through but apparently there's a path beside the closed gate that people keep using to keep walking to the other side of the hike and thus, doing the full circle for the hike!

Keep some COP ready because you need to pay a couple thousand pesos to do the hike!

An amazing hike! Do the trek anti-clockwise to finish the amazing Cocora Vallley view. Bring enough to drink and eat, the hike does take over 5h. Don't forget to go up to the hummingbird sanctuary - it's worth the extra kilometer and you can grab food and drinks there. And hope for good weather!

The only thing I like more than hiking is tall trees so you can imagine my delight when I found out about this hike through the Cocora Valley that has the world's highest palm trees.

It wasn't too difficult but I would recommend taking decent hiking boots and we only paid 2,000 pesos to enter.

What an absolutely amazing adventure And for FREE!!!

Apparently you do get various people asking for money (but this is voluntary and we saw none).

We walked overall for 10 miles and enjoyed it immensely.

The view wasn't exactly spectacular from the top due to the foggy weather but it didn't matter, it was such a great walk and would love to come back again on a sunnier day.

Nice views when the weather is good. Not a very difficult walk but high hiking boots or waterproof boots from the hostel are advisable on rainy days. A walking pole is nice but not mandatory. The locals charge 2000 cop per person at the entrance.

Great. Very Colombian jungle experience. Get a guide or do a short day trip.
I did 2 days with a guide. It was so worth it. Trails are not very well marked.
Get down with a horse if you can.
Not so expensive and great knee savior.
