We went to this park last weekend and it was a horrible experience. We were super excited for the park, as teachers here in colombia we were excited for our weekend away from the city.
But it wasn't nice. We were provided with ridiculously small portions of food (one egg and 2 arepes), when we asked for more we were told we were unable to have more as it was the 'portion'. We then had to get a bus into town to buy more food so we werent left hungry. Also we had to buy water there in town as well, as there was no free water provided, only small bottles for 3500 pesos per bottle! The town is around 30 minutes in taxi, just to buy water and eat!
The camp itself is beautiful, but you need to pay to access EVERYTHING apart from the pool. Even the land where the animla were kept, which you could see from the camp, you had to pay to access!!! You get a free walk at 6am in the morning, and tinto, and that is it.
You pay a lot for a night here, around $50 per tent, which is SUPER expensive for Colombia. The tent area wasnt provided with a lot of lighting, and the whole park had no access to wifi. Everywhere manages to have access to wifi nowadays, but apparently here no, even though you pay a lot to be there.
I also viewed 2 types of animal cruelty that I did not enjoy to see seen as though I am a biologist. The first, whilst we waited 2 hours to be seen by the receptionist, I watched that all the around 16 horses in the paddock were tacked up. I then watched 7 people go across for a lesson, and the rest of the horse remained tacked again for another hour more before we left. This is horrible for the horses to be wearing this in the sun for this long, there was no reason for them to be wearing thm without people riding them. They will proceed to get sores, rubs and other horrible things.
Secondly, I also saw them tie a dog to the tree outside the park in the sun, in distress as they are not allowed in the park. I am unsure what they want to do for the rest of the stay of this person, but I was hoping leaving it tied to a tree all day and night was not the case. Pets are not allowed in the park, and also you are not allowed to bring in your own food, drink or alcohol, therefore you are forced to pay much more money to buy all your things from there.
Overall the stay was horrible, expensive and we spent most of the time waiting around for every staff member in the place to actually accodate us. I also recommend to people not to go there.response / report this review -

Very impressed by the place. We went on A-day or there was no other people . One would have expected to be closed, But quite a good crew working the horses were perfect for each and every level. The only reason is not 5 stars Is because there has been no rain there. I know it's not their fault it's mine for not checking but the river was down and we could not raft or tube. This is a must check other than that everything was perfect

Quite surprised to find a park that mixes a really well planned almost nature attractions with the regional traditions. Really well organized, clean and authentic. Almost all attractions are a must but you have to to attend the Cultura Llanera show. Two days are enough to enjoy the park.

We enjoyed the park while visiting family in Villavicencio Colombia. My teenagers are 12 and 14 and we brought cousins that were 16, 11 and 8 years old.
The day we decided to go it was raining in Villavicencio, so I called the park and the sun was out their and all events were open.
So it is spproximstely a 45 minute drive to the park from Villavicencio, so kids played games in the car on the way and we were there before you knew it!
Now, here are the things I wish I would have known prior to the trip.
1. Bring extra set of dry clothes and towel as you will get very wet on the river rafting event!
2. Bring a waterproof disposable camera or a waterproof sealed zip bag for you camera phone, as you will not be able to take any photos on the river raft experience at all if you do not. The guides warn you multiple times not to take your cell phone, and even then some people did not part with them until very last minute before going down the huge slide into the creek.
3. If you wear Sandler make sure they stay on your feet well as some people lost there sandals in the river. I say river but it's actually a creek. But it's clean water and rocky bottom.
4. My niece did not want to get her shoes wet, so she went barefoot, that was huge mistake as there are sharp rocks and also cow and horse 🐴 manure to avoid along the trail back.
5. The events are all ala cart which means you pay only for the event or activity you wish to go on, not entrance fee st the gate, however there is a welcome guide standing at the gate to wave you in, funny kinda like Walmart greeter. Lol. By the way the price at time of our visit was approx $13 US dollars per person per activity and each activity last approx 1 1/2 hours,
6. My kids wanted the zip line adventure, however it was booked up for the day, so go earlier in day to get your event times secured. We actually came back the next day to do the zip line adventure, and the kids loved it! I sat that one out and went to the restaurant on the property and enjoyed fresh juice drinks.
There is a nice swimming pool, overnight cabins and overnight tents to camp as well as hoarsenack riding, Buggy Animal Safari ride, and real Cowboy Shows too.
7. They take credit cards and be sure and have some Colombian pesos for the snack bar, as the kids enjoyed ice cream and snacks after their adventure.
All in all I must say that the park does make every effort to make your experience fun for all.
I'll post some photos and a shot of their brochure so you can get more info. Also they are very good about answering their telephone as we had called a couple times to verify info.
As you travel past the Colombian Airforce Base, the park will be approx one mile on the right hand side of the road, nice signage you can't miss it!response / report this review -

TIUMA PARK
Un parque como TIUMA PARK, es un sitio muy agradable, en el cual puede uno combinar diferentes tipos de actividades, para todos los gustos: de aventura, diversión extrema , disfrutar de la NATURALEZA en su máxima expresión, de los paisajes, del tobogán con su viaje por el río en donas (neumáticos de alta seguridad), finalizando con un salto desde una torre, recorriendo aproximadamente 45 metros y acuatizando en el río. Igualmente sobresaliente la actividad del Canopi, con sus seis vuelos sobre la vegetación y los morichales. Y si quieres más adrenalina, atrévete con el Rapel. Las cabalgatas seguras, observando el paisaje, con caballos adiestrados para dicha actividad. Inolvidable el viaje en el Buggie Cerrero, recorriendo el mundo de la Orinoquia y tener la oportunidad de observar diferentes tipos de animales típicos de la región. En la noche conocer sobre la interesante Cultura Llanera, explicada de una manera agradable, amena y con picardía, disfrutando de la música y el baile del joropo, interpretada por eruditos en la materia. También disfrutar de la excelente comida en su gran restaurante y poder degustar la exquisita mamona.
Por lo anterior y muchas cosas más recomiendo ampliamente a TIUMA PARK.

Excelente para pasar un puente en familia de todas las edades, entretenidos planes y excelente amabilidad. Se recomienda llevar cerveza pues no venden en este sitio ;)

Es un lugar excelente para compartir en familia, escapar de los afanes de la ciudad, entrar en contacto con la naturaleza y conocer más acerca de la cultura llanera. Hay actividades para todas las edades y gustos! El parque es hermoso! Y la atención es fabulosa! La gente es muy amable, el restaurante muy bueno y las opciones de hospedaje son todas muy cómodas. 100% recomendado!
