Really good hike super close to the city and you get great views over sprawling Bogotá.
It feels super safe because there's a lot of police standing around every 20 minutes or so however you need to get there early as they don't stay all day.
We left around 7.00am which gave us lots of time to get up and enjoy the views before coming back down.response / report this review -

Amazing place to go hiking! It's very safe because there're police officers all the time. Don't forget to take a bottle of water and do not leave any trash for the nature! The view is amazing all time. You need around 3.5 hours to go up and down

Beautiful Hike. Police throughout the trail when I went on a Monday Morning, so it was very safe. Lots of others on that trail at that time as well, even on Monday. They stop letting people in the entrance at 9 a.m. and you are suppossed to be out at 11am. So arrive more like 7 or 8am and you will have lots of time to relax and enjoy everything.
There are steep sections, but the trail is good with stairs at those spots. Not strenuous if you go slow, if you want to go fast, then it gets strenuous pretty quick!
The trail turns and heads just about due north around -74.04, 4.6423, at which point it no longer follows the path/calle 71 shown on google maps. For those with GPS that might get concerned they are on the wrong path, see image for my gps track's general shape.response / report this review -

Very calm and not so physically demanding walk. A great chance to forget about the city without actually leaving it.

La vieja paramo is a beautiful place near Bogotá where you'll breathe clean air and will enjoy a great view of the city.

Only open in the mornings but it is great for a morning walk. There are a few trails to choose from.

Nice place to breath and think different. Well maintained, the path is safe. There is police throughout the path. You'll be able to watch some fish in the small river and beautiful birds up there.
