Cool
It is a nice place to have a drink with your friends or SO, but for special occasion you have to come early or you will not find where to sit
Nice live music and a cozy ambience make this place a good one when you are in the mood for jazz
A bit expensive but it's alternative and cozy, good for couples
I am a jazz musician from California and I was on tour with my group through South America recently. One of our stops was this place. As soon as we walked in (promptly on time, if not slightly early), we were not greeted with so much as an "hola" from anybody. The one person working the floor seemingly ignored us, even though we were obviously unaware of where we could place our instruments and cases. The vocalist, who was also our translator, asked said floor worker if we could speak to the manager, who was also the guy in charge of booking. The worker said that he was too busy to be interrupted, then pointed to him sitting quietly on a laptop in a corner. He never looked up once. We associated ourselves with the stage area (with no guidance from a worker) taking note of a small stage mixer. I was doubling as sound man for this tour, so I surveyed the mixer and noticed the main stereo mix and the monitor mix were both up half way, so I turned up the monitor mix to see what kind of signal I would have in my monitor. The result of my action was that the background music that had been playing throughout the cafe instantly quintupled in volume, following which the manager decided to make his premier appearance- he shook his hands frantically and said "pare!" which translates to "stop!" And then he instantly went back to his quiet corner to proceed in ignoring us. We briefly discussed how mistreated we felt, so we packed up and left. Not worth it. I can't comment how their food or beer is, but if it's any reflection on how they treat their foreign invited talent, it can't be that good. We had our worst night on a four week tour at San Cafe. If you're booking for your band, keep looking. Try Trementina. They will treat you like family.
