This place was such a treat. I've done fine dining in some US cities - Chicago, NYC and this was definitely on par with the big names like Alinea and Eleven Madison Park.

I got the 13 course meal with wine pairings. You also have the option of getting 9 or 11 courses if you don't have a big appetite. (I struggled myself after course 11!) The food was plated well, not always perfectly instagram-able, but the flavors were always there. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and accommodated my broken Spanish well. I went alone and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely loved the time I spent there and it ended up being less than $150 USD, which is a fraction of the price you pay for the same quality meal in the states. Definitely recommend!

Called "the experience", this thirteen course meal is a fusion of various exotic flavors from several Latin American countries. The wait staff are very well versed on each dish and creating an overall ambiance that fosters "the experience" as a whole. Definitely recommend but please note this is one of the more expensive restaurants in Medellin. They also have a nine and eleven course option if you don't have such a big appetite. Tip: make a reservation, don't just show up.

Incredible and unique moments are in store for you at El Cielo. Incredible value for money especially if coming from North America. If you find yourself in Medellin, make sure to book this one in advance.

Love this place. I went there for lunch today and it is amazing. It is not just a place to refuel, but it is like Disneyland for the gastronom. If you love food experiences this comes with the highest recommendation that I can give.

The Colombian version of Carmen only different. Better in many ways. We got the 9 course and wished we had gone for 13. At the other restaurant we were too full after 7 courses. The presentation and dessert were better here. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves food. It is an amazing meal especially for the price. Incredible.

An extraordinary sensory, gustatory and visual experience, which is not very common in Colombia. El Cielo leaves for its proposal rooted in the Colombian heritage revisiting classic dishes and giving them a modern and innovative turn.

Incredible experience! Delicious food and wine pairings complimented by excellent service. Very extrasensory, can't wait to return to Medellín and go again. Truly unique!

A sensory and divine culinary experience! I recommend the 13-course tasting menu with wine pairings. The food is phenomenal, and is prepared with incomparable attention to detail. The smells, textures, colors and flavors of each dish make for an exquisite dining adventure. They provide sensory "moments" in between the courses that don't involve eating in order to allow you to slowly savor your culinary experience. (One example is rubbing your hands with rose petals that contain a softly scented lotion inside of them.) The entire evening, from the food to the drinks to the wait staff, was incredibly special and I recommend it highly.

Only good things to say about the whole experience! Took the 13 course "journey" accompanied with 4 glasses of wine and was happy with every single dish. The appetizers were a great mix, excellent filling entrees and great little desserts. Before going to the restaurant, I had read a variety of reviews regarding timing of service and food taste and I can confidently say both were perfect. The 13 course meal + 4 glasses of wine was a very fair price. I was a big fan of the intermittent "moments" that focused on smell and feel over taste and it made you appreciate each course. Amazing experience and would go again.

I found this place incredibly disappointing. It's honestly like a parody of a molecular gastronomy restaurant. The service is stiff and overdone, the ambience and decor is nice but above all the food is not good. Many dishes were completely imbalanced. I didn't finish at least two dishes because they were pretty disgusting. It was almost like all the dishes were done for presentation and concept but no thought was given to the flavors being paired. Very odd. Two courses were also messed up in the presentation, the server accidentally setting alight one dish tableside and the other came in a test tube but the cork broke and I wasn't offered a replacement.

Awesome experience here. Science-y gastronomy with local flavors. Accommodated a vegetarian, pescetarian and non fish eater in our group of 8. 2 prix fixe menus: we got the smaller one. Lovely 1.5 hour 9 course "journey" all in with much wine $70 usd :)

Minus one star: Service is not perfect but good. Vegetarian menu could be a bit more inspired but still very good.

Went here after reading impressive reviews.
    What a let down.
We went with the 12/13 course degustation and wine to match.
We were first given a hand wash with white chocolate and sugar???
This was the beginning of an interesting night.
The next 3 hours consisted of foams, liquid nitrogen and really really odd tasting dishes the consisted mostly of sugar.
My wife and I only managed to eat 2 courses, the rest we tasted and couldn't finish.
This was sad as we couldn't even stomach the port at the end of the meal as it was a sugar overload.
There is certainly technique in their cooking but it just didn't live up to a hat, or a Michelin star.
The wait staff where very professional.
