This place is a must to visit, wow go and step back in to history. Beautiful simple beautiful.
Amazing collection by great renowned Colombian artists, especially Fernando Botero. And what's even more amazing is that it is free. A must-see when in Bogota.
A must visit if you are in La Candelaria neighborhood or downtown. A historical area of the city. This museum has the permanent Botero art collection, The Moneda (currency) Museum and its Art museum. Also, the "Parqueadero" where contemporary exhibits can be seen. You can have tours in English and may even part of a workshop. I highly recommend to see the paintings of "Las Monjas Coronadas" which is a one of a kind style of painting. In one word the stories behind this collection are jaw dropping.
Botero's art was cool, but in the whole museum you couldn't even point at the paintings without the staff yelling at you, no matter how far back you were.
Actually this rating is going to Botero. Amazing museum!
Lovely exhibition of Botero pintings. Free entry. Beautiful building.
Wonderful collection of modern art including several European masters and a comprehensive Botero collection
This whole complex is a must do in Bogotá. From the numismatic dream of old minting machines to exquisite art from all over Latin America, including a piece from my favorite, Ecuador's Guayasamín, this is an art lover's dream. Housed in an old colonial structure, the sprawling museum is sure to delight--and with regards to Botero's pieces, confuse.z
The internationally known museum has exquisite bones. The courtyards are perfectly laid out and serene. It houses a large collection of Mr. Botero paintings. The canvases are known for their puffery of people - the images are grossly larger than normal depictions. See my 360 degree picture. It's well worth a stop.
Outstanding gallery. One of the best I have been anywhere.
Free entry.
Botero's later work is phenomenal. My favourite pieces were his pastels, but his watercolours are also great.
Also includes work by Picasso, Dali, Renoir, Degas, Monet and others.
Free entry!
