If you like Botero's paintings, you shouldn't miss this. Also more modern art, colonial art and regional art from Antioquia.
great museum. The Botero collection is excellent, but I was expecting that. However, the rest of the museum is also great. loved it!
There's a huge collection of Botero artwork (paintings, draws, sketches and sculptures), and from other famous local artists like Eladio Vélez which I liked the most.
There's also a section of modern and foreign art, and other about historical local/national/aboriginal stuff.
Just don't go the multimedia room if you don't like clowns. There are video and images being projected over fabric-screens as walls, but suddenly without any warning you are surrounded by images of a clown. Very disturbing. You are better on the other side where there's a very interesting photography exhibition.
Very beautiful museum with lots of Botero (more than Bogota). Explanation in Spanish and most of the times in English. Very nice temporary modern art expositions. Nice coffee bar with a fountain on the ground flour.
You won't find a better chance to see such a great variety of Botero's works in every medium, in full-size glory. His style is quite compelling. In addition there are a number of other artists' works, including a small Picasso.
Nice place to know a bit more about antioquia's culture, just make sure you dedicate one whole day. It is big indeed.
Very beautiful works of art by Botero And others. You start from the top down and it's very quiet, has air conditioning just a wonderful experience
Fun art by Botero. I would go again.
Very good collection from different artists and themes. Many of Botero's works are there and they have a great coffee place on the ground floor.
I love museums and I think this is one of my favorites! Fantastic and beautiful collection. Staff are very helpful and friendly! Even the security guard has volunteered to take my photos! ❤😍
Beautiful art is filling this place, there was so much that my feet actually couldn't make the whole route.
Amazing works of art. Must see in Medellin and located in the plaza de Bolivar that is great to see local life.
Its one of the biggest art museums of colombia. The most amazing part is the large collection of botero paintings and sculptures.
Brilliant museum in a gorgeous Art Deco building. Botero donated many of his works to this institution, including dozens of paintings and dozens of bronzes. They form the core of the collection of this fascinating look at the art and history of the heart of Colombia.
Interesting and well curated. In order to appreciate it you need to devote several hours in your itineraryas with every museum I guess.
The museum stands with the donations by Botero, but they have a very interesting collection. Because it is not very busy, it is a relaxed museum where one could spend some hours.
The museum is a peaceul oasis from the hustle and bustle of Medellin's centro. Its open architecture and soaring inside patios are delightful, and it provides great views of Botero plaza and the city. The museum boasts a grand collection of Botero's "naive" paintings as well as works of other modern Colombian artists. The memory room, commemorating those who died during Colombia's violent days is mesmerizing.
Botero and more! Worth a couple hours for sure. No one speaks English but that's not too big of a deal because it's art. I've been to the big museums and while this is small in comparison it's relaxed, cool and not very expensive to get in. Check it out.
Good place to go if you love art or just have nothing to do. Nice exhibition of Botero's painting and works of his friends.
