Amazing rustic mine. This place is not touristic like the Zipaquira mine, however is prettier. The guide was very informative, however I could not find an English speaking guide. The path inside the mine is slippery so ensure you have proper shoes. The history of the mine and the museum are mesmerizing. The mine is located very near the village and you can walk. Save the ticket so that you can visit the museum in the village square. Decent food options are available. Transport to and from Bogota were a bit challenging but I was there on a holiday which explains the less frequent buses.

A little mine of salt. It keeps some typical aspects of salt exploitation, and also has the locations where "Los 33" movie was filmed. Inside, the lights give to salt rocks outstanding colours.

Beautiful place. A very nice guide will take you down the mountain while explaining (in Spanish, I don't know if they have guides who speak English) how the mine was formed, how salt was extracted and will take you to different nice spots inside the mine, like the water mirrors, a small chapel inside the mine, the love spot, the salt cascade, the whising pond, and even the place where the movie "The 33" starring Antonio Banderas was filmed (this is the story of the the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped in a copper mine in Chile for 69 days. Good movie BTW). It is a very easy walk in and out the mine. You have to go down some rock stairs initially (and up at the end of the tour), but once you are down (about 24 yards) then all is at the same level. This tour can take you between 1 - 1.5 hours. Highly recommended. This is an experience not easily found anywhere.

We first went to Usaquen train station, but it only runs on weekends.So we took 2 buses.We stopped in Zipaquira on the way.Very cute small city.Next we arrived in the beautiful town of Nemocon.It is small and the building style is classic.The mine entry is $24mil.A nice worker takes you on an hour tour showing many great things.I can't spoil the surprises!But then, we took the bus back to Bogota and hit traffic, it took 3 hours! So go early to avoid bad traffic.

The tours are well-guided and informative. The scenery is pretty cool and the walks aren't especially difficult. It is a family-friendly place and a good way to spend a few hours.

Good place to go if you are looking for something more personal than the salt Cathedral in Zipa. It is harder to get there and not many transport options available. The additional tourist packages available for the salt Cathedral bought in the savanna train might not apply depending on their availability (don't count on it).

The tunels of the salt mine are an umforgetable experience. The locals were friendly and public transportation is available.

A great destination with either family or friends. The access to the mine, and the tour are not too physically demanding, but comfortable shoes with good traction are recommended since some areas can be a bit slippery. Parking is available at the entrance to the mine, as well as a few blocks down the road at the municipal pool. Taking a picture of the water mirror is a must.
