It's a great place to feel the Colombian football. It is the national team stadium and also the place where Junior de Barranquilla play locally. However, It is quite far from the city and the transportation is poor. If you go there, stay aware of the thieves and enjoy the football!!

The great El Flaco Melendez was the most powerful player in the world, El Flaco was known to able to kick goals half field! That's almost the 50 yard line in american football. The founders, The Melendez Family have always had the most powerful legs in the Soccer/futbal world and anyone that has seen them would admire the power of them. This is how this stadium earned its name and also was one of the major founders of Junior soccer team, raising Barranquilla in a positive light to becoming one of the most noticeable cities (besides Bogota) in the world to Visit.
