Get up early and drive up as far as they allow. It is a stunning volcanic landscape and views into the valleys and over glaciers.

Excellent place for birdwatching, there you can find the Buffy helmetcrest hummingbird and other species from very high elevations

Los Nevados Natural Park, is magical in all its splendor, with its beautiful lagoons, paramillos, hills, sandy areas, unique moors, otherworldly sunsets and beautiful sunrises, in addition to its great volcanoes and snow-capped mountains.

One of the best places of the world.

If you want to come and have a good time with the paramos and the glaciers and a cold but kind climate this will be a perfect place to come and relax from your work, your city or whatever of problems that maybe you have.

Coming to this place is to recharge your energy and acquire all the good vibes that the nature and the mountains can give to you.

Camp and walk over this place and open your mind to the beautiful things and places that are not often shown to the average people. Profit a awesome moment to share a bit of you with you and meditate what are you doing and what are you needing really.

Great guides, but it'll be helpful if you know some Spanish. Right now (2018) you can't go to the glacier on San Ruiz because of volcanic activity, but its still worth the trip. You'll see a variety of ecosystems that are vital for Colombia's production of fresh water.

Incredible place. Beautiful scenery with great tour guides that you can arrange at arriving. The way up is short, the complete abscense of vegetation at the top make it surreal for a tropical country. There's usually no snow, but if you're lucky and get some, it's stunning.

If you want to know other white mountains you can go to Santa Isabel snow peak. That's my next destination. You have to make arrangements in advance with official state tour guides.

    Try the coca tea!
You're pretty limited as to what you can do. The paramo plants are pretty interesting. I was hoping to hike to the top of Nevado del Ruiz but that's off limits. Nevado de Santa Isabel might be a better choice.

A really nice place to have a great experience climbing to the top of the tolima's mountain top. The weather is really cold. A place that is nice to have a great time out of the noise and stress from the City is termales de Cañon (canyon thermal hot springs). The path to get to these places is very demanding but it really worths it

Beautiful park with amazing views. The trek into the park is quite difficult with a lot of elevation change. It's also very muddy! The locals all were rubber boats to walk around for good reason, in some sections of the path the mud is almost knee deep

Wonderful, but have a phone with the app maps.me and a full battery as signs are limited and trails are everywhere.

Good hikes. Tracks are well signed. Be aware of the mud. Raining boots can be really useful
