Awesome Tamale and the chocolate completo also to try. Strange though that you can put cheese in the hot chocolate drink ;)

Excellent food!! We had the Ajiaco Santafereño, Tamales, & Chocolate Completo. All of it was exquisite. There’s a reason why there’s usually a line out the door (plus the fact that it’s a tiny restaurant lol).

Lovely surroundings in the old part of town by the church. Got seated quickly and had the tamales and a smoothie, both were very good. Tamale is a large potion and very tasty, would definitely recommend visiting, aijaco looks very good too

Their tamales are truly a must! But all the food is great.
The atmosphere is unique and definitely a gem that has been in the heart of the city since the Independence times.

Probably best place to try traditional aijaco in centre of Bogota. This is old-school kind of place: no air-con, no credit cards, no menu, not many things to choose from but what they have is SUPERB!

Small place, long waiting line, cash only, everybody squeezed on a hectic movement, two servers, lots of people, always crowded. All, all this suffering is just worth it to try the best Ajiaco I've ever tasted, coming with rice and avocado. A must go in Bogota.

This place might be good for tourists but not so good for locals as it is honestly sort of overrated and overpriced and they use low quality ingredients for some of their dishes. You can find better food for the same amount you pay here or similar food for half the price anywhere downtown or even Bogota. I had an ajiaco, their signature dish and it was fairly good, but my girlfriend had a colombian "bandeja", a dish similar to a "bandeja paisa" and it was very disappointing. The beans and the ground beef were decent but It came with a "chorizo" and a "rellena" straight from the supermarket! And they didn't tasted very good either. There are honestly better places out there but considering it's closeness to some of the landmarks in the area and its historical relevance it might be attractive to foreigners.

The wait can be very long to get into the restaurant, but it is well worth it. The food was delicious. A little more expensive than other options around the city, but still inexpensive and good for the money.

I was here with a girl, who's family owns this place. She said food and interieur is the same as 200years ago. Place Is crowdy (place is very popular and famous) and they serve really traditional columbian food. I recommend kumys, what is a milk drink, personally created by the owner.

Nice food, but extremely expensive for the main dish!
And on top of all - the only restaurant we encountered in 3 weeks in Colombia that presents prices that do not include tax.

Colombian food is cheap no matter where you go, so I'm not going to complain too much, but, comparatively, this place is more expensive than most. The location is really cool. You feel like you have stepped into a time machine.

Traditional place near the city center. It's small with limited seating and can get crowd. The hot chocolate and sugarcane drinks are great (but really sweet). Note that they are served with the typical accompaniments of bread and cheese. A rather full snack. Also tried the tamale and ajiaco. Tamale was VERY good.

Great location near Plaza Bolivar and their prices are not too bad. This is the number one stop in many guidebooks but I think it's a bit overrated.

Hmm so I was really looking forward to eating here based on the reviews and all but wow the kitchen was very rude to me. I just had a couple questions for the menu but I kept getting laughed at..also some other local customer started laughing at me and then staring at me in a bad way. WTF! Not a good feeling! I'm a customer bringing business to your establishment! Where's the respect?! The tamale was good. I will never return and never recommend your business to anyone. The owner needs to fire those 2 guys in the kitchen or put them in some serious respect training

The ajiaco is worth the trip. Look up the story behind this place. It's got an incredible history. Dart across the alley to the most beautiful church in Colombia (and there are a lot of beautiful churches in Colombia).
