The first thing that hits you when you park at la Diva (if you find parking) is the place. Lit up, at night, you see a thousand interesting details about the place. The decoration is eclectic and very tasteful, you can find curious details all over. You walk in and things get a whole lot better, you walk on a glass floor where you can see the wine cellar downstairs (theres a few tables there) and see both wine and other happy customers eating.
Besides the underground wine cellar there is the ground floor and a second floor with plenty of tables so even if the place looks packed, you might find somewhere to sit, or at least hop on to the bar where you can have a drink, or even order your meal while you wait for a table.
The bar staff was nice and handled your drinks with ease, the wintergreen lemonade was tasty and refreshing. We were eventually seated on the ground floor at a quaint table near the door.
We ordered an antipasto platter as a starter, the portions (for two) was very generous and all the little morsels were very tasty. The Pesto was awesome.
After we ordered a couple of "personal" pizzas I has the prosciutto and parmesan one, and my wife the mortadella di bologna one. Both were very good, and the portions generous, we wound up taking a good part of the pizzas home after.
The pizzas were made in a brick oven, the taste was awesome and I can't really complain about the food.
The prices were reasonable, and the place more than made up for any issues with the service.
The service was a little slow, but the place was slammed on a Saturday evening.
All in all I can definitely recommend going.
I plan on going again.
I've heard that their brunch menu (only on Sundays) is very very good and very affordable. will write another review after I go to brunch.
