One of the most beautiful places in one of the most beautiful villages in Colombia. You can go in a tour or by yourself, either way, you'll have to pay once you are taking the road that takes you there. It is worth every penny tho.
The location of the office on Google is correct - when you get to the yellow/green house with horses painted on the wall, knock, and someone will open the door for you (that's if it's not open - it's not that obvious but there is a poster of the cave on the wall.) We booked the day before - the lady speaks some English, you can get by. The tour is $65000 for 4 or fewer, $55000 for 5+ people. You need your passport number for the insurance. The trip takes 4-5 hours. You leave around 9a.m and go in a jeep for about 40 mins up high - very bumpy road with great views. You then walk about 30 mins gentle up hill and have drinks & snacks at a local farm - very yummy (and they even provided vegetarian option!) Next, you access the cave via the footpath - again about 30 mins walk down quite a steep path. You then return by a slightly different route, have a drink, then return by jeep. You are provided with water and snacks for the walk - very well fed! The walk itself isn't too strenuous if you're relatively fit - we we were expecting much longer. Guide was a lovely lady named Maria. The cave is cool but not the most impressive waterfall we've seen, but all in all, nice day trip.
This place is amazing.
The journey to get there is not for the faint hearted but your effort is rewarded with an amazing natural spectacular. A must do if visiting Jardín.
I do recommend it, it's amazing, the cave is beautiful, the water is very cold, and the way is accessible by horse or walk, because the jeep 🚙 just take until the Linda slope. It's a great experience.
Hermoso lugar para los amantes de la naturaleza. Paisajes tipicos de la geografia andina colombiana durante la caminata. Hacer el descenso en rapel es recomendado
Love this little coffee town
I've been going to the Splendor Cave since 2010 and it continues to be one of the most amazing natural attractions near the charming town of Jardín. The best option for getting there is by horse for the first 4+ kms. through a very muddy trail and then it's a 15 minute hike down a steep forest path. A few visitors have dared getting in the almost freezing water but I recommend to enjoy the magic of this special place from outside the water. Back to the horses up the steep trail takes about half an hour depending on your fitness level. Make sure you look for the cat when you get the waterfall.
