Talked to the owner the day before about a coffee tour. Walked up the hill for a hard hour quickly to be there at 9, as instructed, and no one was there. Apparently no one told the guide we were coming.
She arrived after 45 minutes, tour was an hour. Just ok. We weren't blown away. We took a 3 hour tour in Salento for almost the same price which was much better.
The tour felt lacking as the coffee making areas were empty so we just got an explanation.
The coffee roaster is a small makeshift one made just for tours, it's not actually used by them.
The guide didn't seem to know that much about actually making coffee, didnt roast the beans well, ground them up with old beans, didn't clean the chaff after roasting or let it cool.
And the most important thing, after all the talking and explaining why their coffee is organic, natural, better than the others, with chocolate flavor - it just wasn't that great.
The fresh coffee offered to visitors also wasn't so great in my opinion.
The toucan was cute but seemed like a tourist gimmic to get people to come.
We didn't stay for the cacao tour.
Amazing coffee and cocoa tours! Delicious cocoa tea, very friendly and helpful staff, and a pet Tucan!!
I did not sleep here nor did I do the Tour. However, I bought some delicious chocolates, enjoyed the free coffee with the beautiful view and watched the amazing toucan. Great place!
Fantastic coffee tour, they also do chocolate tours. Amazing hike up and you are rewarded with magnificent views. Very kind hosts.
We did the coffee and cacao tour - both were great. Eugenio kindly spoke English so we would understand and the tastings and face masks added to it all, would recommend this place!
Great tour, really friendly owners and the cacao is so tasty!
One of the coolest things I've ever been a part of
An absolutely amazing place, set up high in the mountains, well worth the hike up from town. The chocolate tour was fantastic and the coffee was delicious. I'm even sipping on a cup back home in Canada as I write this.
Prueba el verdadero chocolate recién tostado y molido, disfruta de una calurosa bienvenida y de unos anfitriones excepcionales, incluido Tuki (el tucán de la familia). Si vienes a Minca esta parada es obligatoria. Recomendado!
Wonderful accommodations in an amazing setting. Although it can be tricky to get to, with either a strenuous hike or a mototaxi ride, it is well worth the effort. Lovely hosts, and a pet toucan that hangs around. Lots of birds, butterflies and views of the countryside. English language coffee and chocolate tours are also available. Breakfast and dinner were quite tasty as well!
If you're going to Minca this is a must! Eugenio and Ana are the most welcoming hosts and they're place high up in the mountains is just stunning. From the terrace you'll find a panoramic view overlooking Minca, Santa Marta and the Ocean with incredible sunsets! Stay a night or two and take the cacao/coffee tour! Also, they have the friendliest pet Tucan who comes and goes!
Muy linda experiencia!! Eugenio y su mujer muy amables y serviciales
