Hermoso hotel.
Perfecto para quienes van por negocio a la ciudad o simplemente buscan descansar, alejarse del ruido de lo cotidiano. Super recomendado.response / report this review -

Sencillo, limpio, buena atención. Lo negativo es su ubicación, los alrededores son feos, sensación de inseguridad. Considero el hotel más para trabajo o paso, no ideal para vacaciones.

This hotel is horrible. I came in last minute and checked in at 8pm. The lady at the front desk said their restaurant closes at 8pm. She kept insisting to me that I didn't need to worry about the restaurant because breakfast was included.. but I didn't ask about that. They specified they had a rooftop bar in their hotel description and that wasn't the case. No bar, no pool, no gym, no nothing.
Now she takes my identification and credit card and charges my stuff and makes photocopies of everything. She did not give me a receipt nor have me sign any paperwork or tell me anything about the rooms, for example " no smoking in the rooms, where this restaurant is, the time breakfast is served". Told me she will give me a receipt when I check out. Which I understand would be an adjusted receipt if we have any extra charges but not even the key has the name of the hotel. I insisted she charge it as a credit so that the name of their hotel at least comes on my billing statement and she used it as a debit anyway. She gives me my key and I go to my room (a double)
Now I open the door to my room and there's people in there having sex. I close the door and go downstairs to tell her that the room is occupied. Instead of saying "sorry let me get you in another room", she decided to have a full blown conversation to discuss with me how that isn't possible and her paperwork shows that the room is empty and goes on and on about it. I just wanted a new room assigned and I feel it's unprofessional to discuss with me their poor way of running their hotel.
Now in my new room. This double room that she said is great. It ends up being a room with a full size bed and a twin size bed. Not even a queen. I'm a little upset over how over priced the hotel is and how horrible the front desk lady is and my room isn't the description I was given so i go downstairs to have a cigarette. As I am ready to go outside she tells me, "no it's not safe you should use our roof." I go to the roof, low and behold the roof is where this not so famous restaurant is located.
Go back to my room and now time to lay down because not like I'm going to be able to have dinner or walk anywhere to get anything because i was told it's dangerous so i try to lay down and just call it a night maybe a little television. Go to turn on my light at my nightstand and it doesn't work. So I'm stuck with the bathroom light on if i want to see anything in my room and don't feel like being blinded by the fluorescent lights in the ceiling. All of the bath products in the bathroom were used that it makes me wonder if my room was cleaned. There's a dark yellow stain in the bathroom shower floorhmmm, what could that be. Looks like urine, but I'm definitely not checking. I will be sleeping tonight fully dressed who knows what can be wrong under the sheets and I don't want to know.
When I say over priced I mean double the price to other hotels that are 4 stars in the same neighborhood (the historic district) that have 3 pools and restaurants and a bar lounge and a rooftop and the works. I guess you know and have figured out by now that bright and early I'm checking into another hotel. I wish i could post you guys pictures and videos i took of everything.response / report this review -

Un hermoso 🏨 sus habitaciones son muy cómodas, el restaurante sirve unos desayuno delicioso. Buen lugar para relajarse un rato en Santa Marta.

Friendly. Clean. Comfortable. Great advice if you ask. Decent free breakfast. Other guests were all relaxed and approachable, indicating the culture created by the hostel staff and volunteers. Best hostel I stayed in Colombia, really!!
