Great hotel. Fanatstic breakfast in a very romantic and cool environment. The swimming pool is fantastic. We will definitely be back!
This review is for the restaurant, not the hotel service itself.
The food is ok but nothing really special. The location is good. The decoration is a mix of old style things and really old ones. It has it's ambience despite a painted mural depicting and celebrating the colonization of Spaniards (a shameful one to be honest).
The place is unfortunately NOT kid friendly, there is no place to change kid's diapers and the waitress explained to us this is the first time they get such a request.
A shame that such a place with high potential barely delivers.
This an excellent place to get a good weekend, warm weather, good food and a quiet town.
The food was great will defenetly go back.
Very cosy place, beautiful setting, and nice pool
It's well preserved colonial style architecture
Great service, a variety of food selection, a very refreshing pool and is located at a key sector of Santa Fe de Antioquia
Awesome stay! The breakfast was extremely good and an incredible variety of things to choose from. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The pool area is also stellar. Great place to stay while your stay in Santa Fe de Antioquia.
Reviewer Mortalia2064 got it right - history, nice pool, internet, cable TV, good location in a nice little, colonial era town. My girlfriend and I will be back.
I'm not sure what reviewer Gianluca's problem is, but he needs to chill. He says: "I stayed here a couple of times and I have been disappointed every time. And it's not so cheap for Colombian standards."
If one was that disappointed the first time (one-star review disappointed) why go back? Further, the prices are not bad at all. Our total bill averaged $95 per night for two people, and included some purchased meals (other than the free breakfast) and many drinks. Not bad at all.
Sure, a structure from the 1800's is not perfect, but the hotel is lovely, the pool is great, and the rooms, while not perfect, were fine. But why spend time in a room at all with the pool and the town beckoning in perfect weather.
If you want perfect gringo-style luxury, go to Cancun.
I really don't like this place, it has potential to be something good but like every place of this kind in Colombia, is run to a fraction of it. I stayed here a couple of times and I have been disappointed every time. And it's not so cheap for Colombian standards. The pool is always kind of dirty and oiled, the pool bar service it sucks, they are under staffed and under stocked. The bar service staff is so oblivious about what they are doing is ridiculous, they literally didn't know how to make a margarita, not in the sense that they had their own interpretation of it, but like "I'm sorry sir I don't know how to make that". Also the counters are for the most part broken and missing chunks of marble. The rooms suck, their parking service sucks, they managed to somehow brake the door lock of the vehicle I was using at the time, while under their custody. The entertainment area with the pool tables is so badly maintained that is basically unusable. The food is the same crap that you eat on a road side restaurant, the variation of the food selection is, which way they are going to point the plate at you. Also the reception is so unprofessional, they will treat you according to their mood.
Bottom line I don't think I will ever stay here again.
