Staff is incredible and the accommodations are excellent. I was treated better here than by the Ritz Carlton to put the quality of Hotel Dann Cartagena in perspective!!!! Highly Recommend!! Will always choose a Hotel Dann when visiting Colombia.

Pros:
- Very convenient location right on the beach and about a 10 minute taxi ride from the walled city
- The junior suite was large and had a nice partial ocean view from the balcony
- The staff at the hotel was generally very friendly
Cons:
- Very strong bleach / chemical smell in the room. Even with the window open, I couldn't completely air it out. My clothes and suitcase still reek from it.
- No complementary water in the room or coffee/tea maker. In fact, there was nothing in the room at all other than the mini bar with extortionate prices - one 1L bottle of water for about $4 usd.
-Very poor breakfast selection. Basically a single egg station, arepas and some fruit. The coffee provided seemed to be of the instant kind. The breakfast area is also fairly small for the number of guests, so you end up waiting a while for food if you show up after 8am or so.
-The food in the restaurant is ok, but highly overpriced even by US standards. I would advise to eat in the walled city instead.
Overall, I was left with a feeling that the hotel is more interested in trying to nickel and dime guests versus providing a service comparable to any international 4 start hotel.response / report this review -

Hotel is more than ok because of really good ratio quality and costs. On top of that the the staff is really taking care of customers, helpful and very kind.

Really great staff super kind. Great installations. Nice pool next to the beach.

Great place. They upgrade us to a suite for free. The staff is great. Super professional and helpful. Good spot to check out Bocagrande and Laguito bars and restaurants.

Great service. Old hotel now refurbished. Not friendly for movility limirted persons as there are many stair to get to the frontdesk and elevators.

Nice hotel. The neighbor is perfect, quiet and secure. Hotel is nexto the beach and you can borrow towels for the beach or the pool. The restaurant is pretty small, but the plates are delicious. Is not expensive.

Great rooms and clean. Huge apartments and good service. Overpriced food, tho. But the beach is just in front of you.
