Small and humid airport. It reminded me more of a regional than an international airport. Checking in was inefficient and counters were understaffed. We had to wait for 3 hours in the lobby for an airline agent to arrive at the counter to check-in our bags. Security and Customs on the other hand was a breeze. Don’t expect to shop duty free since all of the shops were closed for renovation. In fact, a large portion of the airport was going through renovation so I assume that it will change for the better.

El aire acondicionado no sirve, el terminal internacional hace inspecciones MANUALES a las maletas dentro de la sala de espera creando molestias y demoras innecesarias. Literalmente sacan más de 20 maletas y las revisan manualmente porque aparentemente no hay presupuesto para una máquina de rayos x

Small, dirty and inefficient. Check-in area was pitifully, security was good enough, and immigration was relatively fast. The Avianca lounge is awful (and I really mean awful) and the general waiting area not much better. They are going through an extensive renovation so should get better in a few years.
