The embassy is a great place if you were robbed of your passport and other credentials. They have a Western Union located inside where you can receive emergency funds from family or friends without your ID. However don't expect the embassy to bail you out of a self inflicted jam.Marine guards are top notch though.

Denied my sister-in-law a visa to come visit us. We gave her a invitation letter and bank statements to show our financial support for her, she provided all documentation to show that she is in college. They didn't even look at them they just said sorry try again. I emailed them and explain the situation and they just said there is no appeal, Pay the fee again and we will take that into consideration. So They can go F$&/ themselves. Luckily we paid the fee with my credit card so I was able to dispute the charges LOL. Scam artists

So I am not sure if this embassy has emails answered by Americas or Colombians because no one seems to understand a simple question. I call and am told I cannot speak to someone on the phone that I must send and email and I send an email and they answer something I am not asking for I need to know how to make a payment while living in Colombia to the USCIS in the USA and these people keep asking me for a case number snd i cant get a case number till i make the payment wth!?!?!

I can only give it 5 starts because if you're an American Citizen this place will mean at least 6 stars to you if you really need it.

IF YOU ARE A US CITIZEN IN NEED OF ANY SORT OF HELP, I CAN ALMOST PROMISE YOU THEY WILL NOT ASSIST YOU IN ANYWAY THAT YOU CANT ALREADY DO SO YOURSELF.

So recently i traveled to Pereira, Colombia and I was having major difficulties coming back to the USA. I had to get back to the states as soon as possible and I thought the U.S Embassy ( I got to the Embassy at 4am by catching a bus & cab which took many many hours with no sleep & it was freezing cold and EVEN AFTER I showed the police I was a US Citizen, THEY DENIED MY ENTRANCE Until later on that morning.) would be very helpful after what I had gone through but what ended up happening was me sitting on the computer located in the American Citizens Services room trying to find a flight back to anywhere in the US (Desperate times called for desperate measures).

The only reason i've even given 2 stars is because the marines are amazing as well as the medical staff.. other than that I truly believe the building should be demolished or at least not be called the US Embassy because its insulting the United States of America.
