The tour was very informative and Don Julio was very kind to show us everything. Of course, the great part was the coffee tasting, it was amazing. Strongly recommended to coffee addicts :)
Enjoyable. Would go again
Great excursion to coffee farm where you can became coffee specialist in half day :D
An Australian guy turned Colombian coffee farmer, what's not to like? We enjoyed that he was very detailed when walking through the coffee growing process; planting through roasting and brewing right up until we had a cup of coffee was in our hands. And it was good coffee.
Highly recommend.
A really nice tour. Very informative. They have english tours Monday to Saturday at 9 am and Monday to Friday in spanish at 3pm.
Just show up on Plantation House Hostel 5 minutes beforehand. The Tour stars there. If you are a Plantation House guest the price of the tour is really cheap.
Truly an amazing education detailing all facets around coffee farming and production. If you are a coffee enthusiast it's hard to imagine a more thorough discussion. It begins at the proprietor's plantation (an Aussie/Brit) and you hike the serpentine route down through a muddy scenic preserved trail - with boots provided by the farm - stopping along the way to learn about this thousands year old process. Eventually you interact with the beans, see various states of its growth, defruit the berries, and they cook and grind some dried green coffee beans so finally you taste the fruits of the labor.
