    Mixed feelings about this place.
    1) Fun place to learn bachata and salsa, with great instructors.
    2) However, the people working at the reception are rude and unhelpful. Tried to schedule a private class, and was told that it had to be done in person at the studio the day before the class. Gave them my credit card, and they forgot to charge it. Then they told me it was my mistake that my card wasn't charged. And also that I couldn't take the class unless I returned to the studio, which was a waste of my time twice.
    3) The employees at this studio also go around the club during the night and request people to make google 5-star reviews. So don't consider seriously all the 5-star reviews that are made for this studio.

Price is not clear as they state it's "NO COVER" but charge you 15.000 COP when you get there.

The class is 100% in Spanish and all the teachers are high on cocaine.

What pisses me the most is that they force you to leave a 5 star review when you leave the place. Very intensely. They will even give you the wifi password and stare at your phone until you do it. Not cool.

Anyway, the class was alright and good fun.

Been to many salsa clubs in many countries. While this isn't the largest, the scene is great. They do a nightly social class starting around 830 or so. Rates at the time were 15m for the night or 100m for the month. After the class, the lights dim and it's social dancing til close. They do have a bar also. We went back most nights while in Medellin. Definitely recommend.

This place is awesome! One of my main goals in coming to Medellin was to learn salsa and I picked a good place. I bought private classes because I wanted to learn well and they are great so far. The group classes are also fabulous- dance with a bunch of different partners, it’s fun, and you learn a lot. They also have language exchanges on Saturday’s which are free and other free events. Awesome place to meet people, learn to dance and have a great time.

Funfun and more fun. This was an awesome lesson and a great time. We are visiting on vacation from Atlanta and we had a great time. A nice bar and the instructors were awesome. They went through step by step for beginners. I loved how they allowed us to practice with a partner and then dance with music after. The cost wasn’t bad and the drinks were great. I highly recommend this place. Thank you for a great lesson and experience while in Colombia

Absolutely amazing. So much fun! Went from having no idea to what salsa was, to knowing how different and fun it is, to getting hooked! Worth every penny. Go if you’re here for a day a week or a month!

Great fun! I was a little nervous but the instructors were excellent. Friendly, patient and fantastic dancers.
The classes were well "graded" and everyone was friendly.
Despite having minimal Spanish I was able to follow instructions given the experience of the instructiors
Highly recommended and a good work out as well.

Me and my friend were visiting Medellin and we dropped by for a Friday class. The classes started a little after 8 PM, with good crowd.

After the warm up and a little bit of relaxation the classes are grouped based on skill level and the advance patter was good and like the way how it was taught in fun and interacting with the students.

Recommend it to have a experience of Latin dancing and also to learn about the same.

Dance free is a fantastic school for learning salsa. The class went for about 2 hours, with a good warm up, salsa basics and more advanced steps. The class was then split into 3 groups, beginner, intermediate and advanced and, the teachers were all amazing and fantastic at catering to each level. After the class there was also plenty of opportunity to practise with each other and many of the advanced dancers happily danced with the beginners. Great teachers and so much fun!!! Would definitely recommend to everyone of all levels!

Had a super fun time at dancefree for my first bachata class! The instructors were great and everyone was very inviting, especially to beginners. Highly recommend visiting if you're staying in Medellin!

    Salsa Home in Medillin

I have taken both private classes and group classes at dance free for weeks.

The Private Classes- Phenomenal, diverse teachers that teach, not only dance moves, but also how to count the beat and dance with rhythm. The prices are also very reasonable, especially compared to private classes in the US.

The group classes are a great place to meet new people, learn new salsa/bachata moves, and practice the moves you already know.

In summary, this place is not just a dance studio. For me, it is a second home and I consider all of the dance free staff family. I am very grateful for all of their help and support!

I've been here the last 2 nights and the classes are phenomenal. There are many people but also many teachers, at least 6 every night. They split up the group to the according level. It also is a great mix between locals and tourists. Especially the dancer Manuela is very good. Highly recommend going here!

Visiting Medellin with a friend and decided last minute to take a private salsa lesson. Bill promptly responded and accommodated us in less than a day. Great intro lesson with plenty of opportunity to come back and practice (dancefree also operates as a bar/club). Great service, non intimidating environmentmust do in Medellin.

I've been dancing for 2+ years, and in my first stint living in Medellin, this was my dance "mecca".

Dancefree provides an extremely welcoming, fun, inclusive environment. Everyone of all skill levels is welcome and invited to have an awesome time here.

Nights that I went typically featured warm-ups and lessons to kick off the night - everyone has already joined in, everyone feels comfortable, and we have an awesome time throughout the rest of the night.

Professores are awesome - extremely gifted instructors exist there. Highly recommended that anyone staying beyond 2-3 weeks find a time to block out a few hours a week and connect with the talented instructors there.

Check out their next Thursday/Friday/Saturday night event! Get there before 9pm weeknights / 10pm weekends :)
