I'm a citizen of the USA and I was denied entry in to Colombia, supposedly for not having an exit stamp. I wouldve been glad to pay any fees associated with it but they decided to send me back to the country I took the plane from. I had to wait for hours and hours until to the next airplane. The people there were rude and unhelpful. I would never come back to colombia and I Would advice anybody not to even step foot in this country. It's not worth the headache with these people. Horrible treatment and very unhelpful.

The officials in charge of doing the VISA interview do not speak English and act entitled and rude. Too be considered a professional in an immigration office you need to be bilingual. The old lady that does the interviews is dreadful and hopefully her retirement is coming soon or not ( maybe that's why shes angry at life ) wish ya luck!

First of all, the service is very slow and the lady that did our process was slow, sloppy and most of all rude! She took her time doing her thing while we waited about 45 minutes and she was texting on her phone not doing her job thus making us lose our flight. Our flight was scheduled for 7:30am and we got to the airport at 4:00am, which is plenty of time to board. If you come to colombia, don't expect fast service in immigration!

Very slow service we payed like 350$ just to get a stamp in the passport.. First we went on friday and they told us to come again on Monday. So we went today again at 8 o clock and finally we get a 15 day permission to stay at 12 o clock. Just bad in my opinion

Great migrations services. Migration Colombia offers id services for national and foreign. Also I extremely recommend using pre booking and sign up in "migration automatica" option will save you precious time in the airport

Ve ready for the worst of the worst service ever. They can't speak English. The watchman thinks he's the boss. They talk to you like if you were a criminal.
Make sure you bring all the documents, you submitted online. Bring a copy of the passport. They are not even capable of telling you what to bring. It's so disorganised, old building and also you need to do lots of unnecessary things there.
Absolutely inefficient.

This place is a way to get a good incite to service here in Colombia. Before I start, the best advise above all when dealing with this place is to get an appointment. It is optional. Search for page T703 (Unfortunately it is a bad English translation). Follow on from that page through to their appointment booking page (I had to use the Spanish online form as the English one seemed broken and missing some input fields that you get on the Spanish one.).

I had to register an RE visa that I obtained in the London consulate. You have to do this within fifteen working days at this office in Bogotá (or at one of the other offices in a other Colombian cities). So, I would make an appoint to register this visa (Registro de Visa) as part of the same application I would also be applying for a foreigner ID (Cédula de Extranjería). It's just one form, passport with visa, know your blood type and photocopies of each (black and white is fine). Rock up to the entrance tell the guard that you have an appointment (show reference number and don't worry about the time of the appointment, he'll point you to a queue for people with appointments and this will be much shorter than the long line of people turning up without an appointment. So this is your first win. Person at the desk merely checks your application and documents briefly. Enters some details on their computer and directs you upstairs (1st floor). This person knew simple American English, enough to ask a question and direct you.

On the first floor there's another bulk of people waiting for their name to be called. As far as I gather, applications with appointments get priority as my name was called almost instantaneously. You merely hand this person your documents and they ask you to wait again. This person sequentially enters more of your information into their system and your documents get handed out to other desks besides. When the clerk on that desk gets to your documents you'll be called. As far as I could tell, applications get priority with your documents featuring top of the pile of the clerks workload. However, waiting for this clerk to call me took the longest with a wait of about 30 to 40mins. Once called, you wait while they enter more information, seemingly creating your ID card on screen and then scanning all your documents and providing a six digit number which is written on your application form and handed back. You will then have to pay. The best advise is to pay with a card. It's COL$173,000.00 (About £45. Pay with card even if you have to use your home country's card, it's worth any fees as otherwise you will need to leave the building and go through the hassle of finding a bank and paying their. Asking how long until I receive my ID card I was told five days and told to call a number on a leaflet to find out. That's it. You get a receipt and you leave the building.

Instead of calling the provided number, look online where you can check if your Foreigner ID card is ready with the six digit reference number that they wrote on your application. Search for cedulas-para-reclamar (Download and search for your reference number. It's in numerical order.). When you see your reference in this PDF, you can return to the office and tell the guard that you are collecting. He'll point you to a desk on the ground floor where I found a bored person on their mobile (using whatsapp). You'll give them your passport and they'll look though a pile of cards and hand you yours.You then sign a form and be off.

Now for the review of this place. The staff do not know enough English. The website has almost unworkable English. Website is broken in many parts. Staff are inattentive. It is not made clear what the next steps are that you need to take, beforehand and particularly when in the building. The place is crowded. Staff are not professional, choosing to chat with one another and playing with their mobiles than do their job. Desks are understaffed. Guard at door is unwelcoming. Again, my advise is to book an appointment before turning up.
