Great spot to chill and see the city. Staff are beautiful and friendly with solid english skills. Hostal has every type of accomodation and is very helpful in organizing tours and helping you get the most of your stay. Highly recommend to solo travellers.

I stayed at this hostal for more than a month and had a great experience. I found it to be clean and well run, the staff were helpful and friendly, the cafe is very nice with great coffee and food, and there is an awesome language exchange here on Wednsdays and Fridays. I met very many cool people at the language exchange, and I think it's a great way to make some friends here in Medellín.

It was really hard to leave this place. The Atmosphere, the Staff (all of them are wonderful girls) and the people you meet there are awesome.
You can meet also local people, since there is a café downstairs and a language exchange twice a week. I really enjoyed this place and would always come back.

Good location, chilled hostel and good lockers. Downside is that the kitchen is quite dirty and not a lot of bathrooms.

What I didn’t like was that you had to pay an extra 7.5% on top of the advertised price for a service fee. Why not build it into the price and pay your staff a decent wage?

Also would be better to hire dedicated staff specifically for cleaning rather than getting your cafe staff to double up to take care of your hostel

The hostal is in a good location, on a quiet street close to the Metro and a short walk to a local mercado. There are lots of nice areas to chill and socialize, the kitchen is great and the cafe is nice. The rooms are fine, but not the cleanest. Careful with the laundry, too; a few people’s got mixed up and I had to retrieve my own from the roof two days after I gave it to them. Also beware that apparently the price increases during the week, but they don’t tell you that until check-out.
The girls working here were nice and helpful, but unfortunately the owner is not. It’s too bad when the owner is really the biggest negative about an establishment, very rude and openly uninterested in interacting with his guests, not even a simple “hello.” This made for a strange experience, especially after paying to stay there for 4 nights and supporting your business. Hospitality 101, it’s simple. ;)

If you're looking for a place to sleep, stay away from here. There were BED BUGS in this hostel which is a travellers worst nightmare!! When I told the staff there were bed bugs after being severely bitten in my legs, arms, neck and face they didn't care much for it. I told them I was leaving the hostel and they just asked me if I wanted another bed!!! When I came back in the afternoon to collect my bag and leave I noticed all they had done was change the pillow cover on the bed where I stayed!!

Basically, this place is run as a coffee shop rather than a hostel which means very little care is given to the accommodation part. There are 2 bathrooms in the accommodation floor, but only 1 has a working shower and I only got cold water for 2 days. Then, there are these wooden cabins outside meant to be showers but that doesn't really work.

It looks like all the money is invested in the coffee shop which no doubt it is quite popular in the neighbourhood. The problem with that is that all employees are downstairs running the shop (which is the hostel reception as well - doesn’t work), all the people coming in saturate the wifi connection and worse part is that all the people visiting the coffee shop use the bathrooms in the accommodation floor (2nd floor)!! That means there is no security in this place as there is a free flow of strangers in areas that are meant to be for hostel guests! This is particularly bad on Friday nights when they host a language exchange event on the rooftop meaning that everyone passed through the 2nd floor where the rooms are.

I’m really not one to make bad reviews but this is the worse place I’ve been in a long time and I’m a regular traveller. The place has potential but it is poorly managed - maybe they should stick to making coffee only.

Stayed two nights in Ondas hostel! Chilled vibes. Good if you are looking for that. Majority of staff only had Spanish and were helpful, lovely and tried their best with us. However there was one man who had English and worked there. He was so rude and unhelpful and didnt try one bit. He ruined the vibes in the place!!

Really like this place! It's good for practice English because there are a lot of people in the Wednesday event. Music is good, attention is good to, but is kind of hot. In conclusion, I'll come back!!

This place is perfect. I've stayed in 3 different places in Medellin - an airbnb in Estadio, a hostel in Laureles and this place - and Ondas is by far my favorite. It's located close to Laureles with lots of restaurants and bars, Estadio, which has lots of sports and exercise options. It's also right next to the metro station, which is super easy to navigate. Ondas has a cafe with amazing coffee below it. It's a tranquil environment where the people aren't partying all night long. The beds are comfortable too, so you'll definitely get a good night's sleep. It's got a huge and fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful rooftop terrace. I will definitely be back here.

Decent hostel but unfortunately not many staff around to talk to about day trips and activities. We had to sleep on the floor on the first night as the dorm we booked was overbooked however they did reduce the cost for us. One good thing here was the coffee!

Good place to relax and chat with friends. This cafe offers language/cultural exchange on Wednesday. Everything they sell here is delicios at a reazonable price.
