We visited the garden twice and both times I was left with the impression that this place is permanently under maintenance. I've had the privilege of visiting botanic gardens in different cities and countries and with Colombia's biodiversity, I feel like this place could be something out of this world. Anyhow, maybe I visited during the wrong season and truly hope that's the case. Enjoyed seeing some of the animals that have made this place their home. The store is definitely worth checking out and their restaurant serves a pretty delicious meal. Oh, the small herb and vegetable garden in front of the restaurant was a nice touch!
Beautiful botanical gardens, and much fun with the iguanas walking around. Best thing: free entrance! Recommended.
It's worth a trip to this garden if only to escape the commotion of the city for an hour. The restaurants are delicious and accessible. The one near the entrance has sit-down service and delicious typical food. I didn't go to the fancier restaurant, but I wanted to, because it looks like a cool, sophisticated experience surrounded by the garden.
BEAUTIFUL 🌳
A must. This a beautiful place for a lovely walk, a great cup of coffee or having your business meetings or event.
It’s always a great choice to escape from a hectic day.
If you're looking for an oasis within Medellin, make this your go-to spot. Admission is free. Take your time and carefully look at all the beautiful colors that surround you. Amazing foliage and ponds. There are multiple pathways, some of which made me feel like I'm in the woods. Several public restrooms within the garden.
One of my favorite places to go You can keep in touch with nature and share with family and friends Peaceful and quiet place
Had a pleasant experience strolling through the gardens. A book fair was underway the day I went, so the gardens were free and it was quite busy. I would consider it to be more of an arboretum than a botanical garden since there were more trees than understory plants or flowers. Nevertheless it is a very nice and relaxing area to visit in the heart of Medellin.
Orchid garden and butterfly park closed for maintenance! The rest is okay, but I was expecting a bit more.. anyway it's free entrance. Beautiful pictures at the entrance.
The botanical gardens in Medellin are akin to an oasis in the desert. The hustle and bustle of the city seems to magically disappear when you enter. The space is not excessively large but provides a good 45 minutes of walking. I didn't find that much variety of plant species but it did indeed seem pretty natural to the region. Cost of entry was free and we had a great lunch inside the gardens.
Not a lot to see if there is not an event going on like the flower festival week. There is a nice restaurant inside called In Situ. Book a seat there, arrive early, and walk the grounds in about 30 minutes. Advantage is it is very close to metro. Not so safe in the evenings.
Even though it is a free place to go in Medellin, and could be a "oasis" in the middle of the city. Personally I think there not to much to view nor do here. If you love plants and have visited anothers Botanicals Garden you could skip this one
Cool place to interact with nature, there's a lake with some iguanas and turtles and a beautiful places to watch butterflies. A really nice spot if you want to have a picnic
Nice, little peaceful getaway within the city. If you are looking for a leisurely afternoon, and wish to wander around the various trees, plants and ponds, then this might be a stop for you. I recommend bringing a book and/or picnic because it doesn't take very long to actually walk around the gardens. There is also a good restaurant in the gardens called "In Situ" that is worth a stop if you are in the mood to pay a little extra for the fancy atmosphere and gourmet food.
Please let place to sit around, get a meal and see some butterflies. The garden part is rather underwhelming. I was hoping for more. Nice gift shop.
Beautiful space. So nice to see so many people enjoying the park. Enjoyed the palms, orchids and tropical forest. And it's free!
Very nice place for a slow day and for picnics. Comes with fruit loving Iguanas to and they are huge.
Busy on Sundays, probably more of a nice oasis in the city on other days. Many plants, birds, and iguanas to see. Free entrance is nice.
the park is nice but nothing special. if you are interested in birds or different kinds of trees, go there. the butterfly house is nice as well.
Good for an hour or so walk through the park. The paths are fairly well removed from the noise of the city, there's plenty of places to sit or have a picnic, and the butterfly garden is great. The plants in the park are different enough to make it worth a complete loop, but most of them have no label or description.
