I went and asked for only a simple haircut, as my hair was straight and medium length, which cost 43,000. I repeated multiple times that I wanted only a haircut. They washed my hair (I said I didn't want it washed, but they told me it's necessary before the cut), and they cut my hair while wet. Then he wanted to dry my hair with a hairdryer, which I allowed and took an extra 5 minutes (my hair was still dripping wet from the wash).

When it comes time to pay, they charged me double the cost! And then they threatened to call the police, and said they have a camera and I should pay a for the service. I said fine, and that the camera would show I asked for only a cut and I didn't ask them to blow dry and style my hair (which they never did). But then they didn't want to show the video recording. I was lucky I spoke Spanish and could stand up for myself, but I imagine other tourists would not be so lucky. Overpriced and you can find much better service elsewhere in Medellin and Colombia.

Fui y pedí un corte, que cuesta 43,000. He dicho muchas veces que solo quería un corte y nada más. Ellos empiezan lavar mi cabello (cuando pregunte, dijeron que no tiene costo adicional), y cortar mi cabello. Fue un corte muy simple y rápido, mientras que mi cabello todavía estaba mojado. Después, el preguntó si quiero secar mi cabello (seguro que si, estaba mojada!). El no hice más que secar mi cabello con un secador, fue como 5 minutos.

Cuando quería pagar, ellos me cobraron doble, diciendo que es un corte y más para cepillarlo! Y después, querían llamar la policia, pero en el mismo tiempo no querían mostrar el vídeo de seguridad que tenían ellos (porque yo había dicho claramente y muchas veces que solo quería un corte!) Tengo suerte porque por lo menos hablo español, así discutimos pero realmente, no puedo recomendar ese sitio a otras personas. Mejor ir al otro sitio que es mucho más barato y con mejor servicio.

I loved my experience at Ambroxia! The hair salon was extremely professional. My hair stylist, Vladimir, was extremely knowledgeable and professional in every way (he can also speak English). I'm used to being in dry climates and he taught me the best techniques to keep my hair tame in this humid climate. I would highly recommend him!
