Beware of dubious taxis outside the terminal. If you look foreign, they will rip you off big time, 300 RMB to the train station. It is safer and quicker to take cruise company's shuttles to Beijing.

The bus to the airport takes 2-1/2 hours to go the 150 miles to the Beijing Airport. There is an airport at Tianjin, but that's not apparently for international flights. There is one bathroom stop; for the men & women, it's the squatty potty style, about an 1-1/2 hours away. There aren't any shops open when we departed at 8:30AM. We all met on the ship at 7:00AM. We didn't see any shops open to buy anything in as well. There are good bathrooms open in the terminal. We got off the ship about 8:00AM. Luggage was on the first floor lobby, grouped by color tag, very convenient. They had someone at the bus to handle your luggage. There are no taxis, no limos at terminal unless one has arranged for them. I would be very careful making those reservations; remember they have to come 2 hours from Beijing to get you. Better to return home from another port.

Free wifi needs to be checked out, its very slow, and not through the hole building.
Don't expect Taxi drivers from the Tianjin city area to know where the port is - use coach/transfer services offered by your operator.
People with prams / disabled will find the building easy to navigate, and with the transfer bridge to the ship a simple gangway (like you get at the airport).response / report this review
