    Payment is a mess

Nice, clean and organized, compared to the old port but for God's sake, please bring cash or better wechat pay for anything that requires payment.

If you are a foreigner and you like to buy a ferry ticket: Cash is still the way to go!

They're currently setting up an ATMs for the future but now it's still not that convenient.

If you would like to pay for your parking: Wechat pay!
And please learn how to read Chinese language first or follow these steps:
    - Scan the QR code with your wechat and "follow" shekou port (as shown in my picture 1)
    - Klick the function as shown in my picture 2
    - Klick the function as shown in my picture 3
    - Insert your license plate number into the search bar as shown in attached picture 4
Accept the payment and press pay by wechat.
    - Leave within 15 minutes

Shekou Port has moved. See the blue dot in my photo. Take a taxi or bus 328 or arrive at the old terminal and take the blue shuttle bus that runs every 10 minutes or so (Cant validate the shuttle bus as I have not been on it).

One of the nicest ways to travel to Hong Kong, especially if you are in Shekou. Immigration is very quick and efficient. If you are heading to Hong Kong airport, you can check your luggage in here and clear customs and immigration.

As of Nov., 2016 ferry arrivals/departures from/to HK/HKIA/Macau has moved to a new location, Shenzhen Prince Bay Cruise Homeport (about 1Km from the old terminal). There're free shuttle buses from Ferry terminal metro station.

By far the smoothest link between the Mainland and Hong Kong. Be aware, weekdays the last ferry to Hong Kong island departs at 4:30pm or so. Immigration is super quick (less than 10 minutes including both the PRC and the Hong Kong side), and the ferry ride is pure fun -- if you like it shakey :D
Little Hint: there is a free shuttle bus between Shekou Metro Station (bus terminal) and the ferry terminal (level -1, actually). It's not one of those "city busses", but a quite big coach. If you take one of the "city busses", you'd pay around 2 CNY for 1 stop.

Shenzhen Shekou Ferry Terminal, brings lots of convenient travelling to HKG for a day round trip visit or to HKG International Airport.
Avoiding all the long queues of human squeezing traffic at custom immigration if you are using the Shekou Ferry Terminal to HKG for a day round trip. And if you are catching a flight at HKG International airport, on certain selected airlines you can check-in your luggage(s) at the ferry terminal and they will auto check-in those luggage of yours to the respective airlines. And you can enjoy your shopping and dining at HKG Int'l airport and you will only see your check-in luggage(s) at the final destination when you arrived. For other airlines which were not listed available for such services offer by Shekou ferry terminal, you can check-in your luggage(s) once you arrived at HKG Int'l airport. Do purchase your Ferry Ticket a day or two before your travel, so as to avoid disappointment of tickets sold out on the specific timing that you require to travel. And do take note there is a timing period buffer requirement for travelers who are taking the HKG Int'l Airport.

You don't have to buy ferry ticket online in advance as there's plenty of ferry during the weekdays. Better get some food before waiting for the ferry as the restaurant is very pricy and taste is not good at all. Environment is okay but not worth it.

If you are landing/boarding in HK airport and that you are traveling to/through Shenzhen, the Shekou Ferry Port is an excellent option, as the travel time is short and you can do away with all that queues and arrogance of the HK Custom. Keep in mind though as this option is more suited to light or hand luggages, unless you get there at least an hour before the ferry departure and ask for a baggage loading service. Me and my pregnant wife live overseas and were traveling back to Shenzhen for the Chinese New Year, and the HK Custom gave us a really hard time as we were just passing through, so on our way back we decided to skip through all that and take the ferry instead. Only problem was we showed up at the port late and with loads of large baggages. The staff from the port were extremely friendly and helpful and we managed to catch our flight, so five-star praise to you guys and many thanks for helping us that day.
