Awesome Zoo! Would recommend it to everyone. The Chinese Tourist's behavior against the animals is ridiculous but nothing to blame the zoo for. Nice zoo with big Cage's and good treated animals.

its like beeming urself to a wild park in africa in just 40 minutes from shanghai bustling metropole! i was impressed how well organized that is. only thing is that the young pandas didnt want to show up at that day.
worth spending a full day if ur with family.

Awesome. Very educated place. Well manage and well organized. Especially for the wild animal. It will be much2 better if the tour bus use electrical transport mode. It will reduce polution inside the wild animal area.
And really happy to see the animals are being take good care. Love the big pandas as well.

I don't know if this is the most humane zoo, but In terms of being able to see the animals up close and active, often even being able to feed and touch them (flamingos, kangaroos, elephants, giraffes) I've never seen a better zoo. They have rare animals like ligers, they have a bus you can ride through animal habitats from which they are fed, giving you a close look at even dangerous carnivores. One lets you feed them and the other you cant but the driver still feeds them so I thought it was worth the 40 yuan per person or so we saved by taking the cheaper bus. A bear even climbed onto the caged bus, refusing to let go until he was fed. It's near Disneyland so if you head there or to the airport it's worth visiting. The food there is terrible so you should eat before going or bring your own.

LOVED IT, really big park but everything was close enough. Ticket price was only around 20 usd but with student discounts that make it half price. Little fees to do things inside but thats to be expected, the park is HUGE and needs a way to keep all its animals fed, the wildlife tour thing had way more animals than i expected and was bigger than i thought. worth the 80 yuan for the wildlife tour

A zoo which does more showing than conservation. Feel sorry for those animals living there.

Large zoo and the animals seems fairly treated and the pandas were somewhat active for being pandas. They also had baby animals gatherd in a certain part of the park. Don't miss the tiger feeding, pandas and the bus ride.

This zoo is better than the Shanghai zoo at Hongqiao, my opinion. But if you live in the city (Puxi), this place is quite far. Transportation is an issue. Otherwise, I think it's definitely worth taking your kids there. By the way, please rent a tricycle riding inside the zoo, trust me!
