This best thing about this hotel is the location. Perfectly centrally located for Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, both are in walking distance.
We booked a Club Level Room and were shown to a room which was very run down and a bit dirty to be honest, on the 7th Floor. We complained to reception who moved us to the 4th Floor, near to the Club Lounge. This room had exactly the same layout but was more modern in design and much better. Given that the hotel was almost empty, why wouldn't they give us one of the best available rooms, particularly after we had paid for this style room?
Club Lounge was always empty - there was little atmosphere and very few other guests. Happy hour drinks and food were limited, but always tasty.
The East Restaurant was always great for breakfast. A fabulous buffet - there was everything you could want, it was superb, and very nice service from the staff.
Concierge was also a real plus for this hotel. They were super helpful and extremely friendly, and always ready to help.
Overall, after a disappointing start, the hotel redeemed themselves giving a reasonably good overall experience. After the recent takeover, I hope they invest some money and update the hotel and rooms, as it has the making of being a top quality hotel.response / report this review -

北京饭店来福士里的高档会所，去的都是有钱有势，有头有脸的人。里面布置的不浮夸，古色古香中又不乏现代艺术气息，很适合品茗品酒。商务会客。蹭吃了一顿晚餐。餐前水果，中餐，餐后甜点。中餐味道很好（绝对和外面的不一样）

This was a very beautiful hotel. Great location. Just remember that taxis are rarer than gold in Beijing and almost completely impossible to get after 12PM, even from your hotel. A hotel car service to the airport is recommended. Stephen

Day 1: This gorgeously refurbished 1917 Beaux Arts building combines old-world luxury with 21st-century necessities and a prime location.

Fabulous hotel - stayed there in October and enjoyed it very much. Very professional staff, spacious and super-clean room, beautiful hotel bar and lobby and the best breakfast buffet ever. Great value. I will definitely consider this hotel next time I go to Beijing.
