It's fairly easy to get to, just follow the directions the guard gives you.
All you have to do is stand in front of the gate to the apartment complex, make eye contact with the guard, and look lost.
The museum itself is an amazing collection of history. If you're interested in the history, you'll easily spend 2-3 hours here. If not, you can still spend an hour just glazing over the artwork and descriptions.response / report this review -

This was difficult to find, but so glad we did. It's in the basement of building 4. The guard will see your confused look and give you a business card and point you on your way. Very fascinating place. I'd give yourself 30-60 minutes here depending on how much Chinese you know or don't know. I only wish I knew more about Chinese history before coming, as I didn't always know what the posters were referring to. Small little gift shop is worth visiting as well. 25RMB for the museum.

This is a really interesting place to visit, especially if you bring along a Chinese friend who can explain the context of all the posters. To find this place you have to in the basement of an apartment building. The security guards will probably give you instructions, but I posted a photo of the entrance to the building as well.

Amazing historical experience. Lots of original pieces. Gift shop items are more expensive than those you might find by wondering around (Mao's red book for example) but also contains some pieces you won't likely find elsewhere. Wonderfully laid out in chronological order, the museum does a brilliant job of taking you through the history of modern China and explaining various propoganda pieces.

Fascinating insight into China's recent history, and also the role of the West in said history. My only criticism would be that I would have liked a little more information on some of the items.

A walk through China's recent history through its propaganda posters. Each poster tells of the political climate at era and goals of the party.
See how USA was depicted as a green devil during Korean War and Taiwan issues.
See Mao in the realms of Karl Marx & Lenin. See how "great leap forward" began.

Cool pieces of history here, tucked away on the basement floor in the back of a condo complex.
¥25 to enter.
No photos allowed.
No Wi-Fi.
Original pieces for sale.
