A legendary pagoda from one of the famous Chinese Legend, White Snack Legend (白蛇传). The new building is really beautiful and solid than the old one.The original one has collapsed in 1924. They rebuild it at 2002 ,modern building with escalator outside and lift inside the building. You still can see the debris from the previous building.
The most fascinating is woods crafted beautifully with the story of white snake legend. It is crafted very detail, the figure, trees, clouds looks alive. Really softisticated hand carving.
Absolutely a must visit place in Xihu.

Although this is a recently reconstructed building, nowhere else can you get a better view of the West Lake. Just be sure the weather is clear!

You can take a 2 hour walk around west lake (depending on where you are starting) to reach this place. Note that this is a reconstructed tower and doesn't not have any original material from THE leifeng pagoda. Everything is very newish.

Nice views and fairly easy with escalator and elevator. Don't miss in the lower floor a very nice set of 8 woodcarved pictures about 4 by 12' each of the legend of the White Lady. Really amazing amount of work! Full of core little details like little crabs and birds . For me this was the highlight of the visit, but don't forget to stop in the way down from the elevator at the second floor

Good views over the lake from the top. Take the lift inside the pagoda or walk up. Getting to the bottom of the pagoda you may take stairs or escalator.
The pagoda itself is modern built on ruins which can be looked at as well. All is surrounded by some park. Entrance fee for all together CNY 40.

The legendary pagoda that has connection with the White Snake Legend.
You can see the scenery of the West Lake from the top of the pagoda.
Inside is a some kind of museum and the ruins of old pagoda.
    There are english description inside.

Nice view of the lake, easy access with the escalator, ruines of the first pagoda is under the new one (we can still see it). It's a nice place but nothing amazing.

Great views of the lake! The pagoda is a modern building on top of the ruins (visible in the basement) of an old pagoda. Worth visiting because of the views alone. Escalators and an elevator make going to the top easy.

A packed, touristy attraction. If you go, keep these tips in mind: It's ¥40 for adults to enter, the temple is rebuilt and modernised in the early 2000s, so don't expect an original, ancient pagoda experience, If you can, climb the stairs to avoid the elevator crush.

The view out the top is pretty good, you can see most of West Lake. Check out the incredible wooden carved diorama on the second floor for the legend of white snake.
