Description

Founded in 1960, as one of the four universities focusing on electronic technology in China, Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET), is a key university of Guangxi which is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

With 50 years of construction and development, GUET has shaped a multidisciplinary university abundant in engineering-based disciplines and featuring electronic information and technology.
Located in the world-famous historical and scenic city of Guilin, GUET includes three campuses: Jinjiling Campus, Huajiang Campus and Beihai Campus, covering an area of 1000 acres.

GUET now develops 22 academic units, 18 institutes, 28 experiment centers as well as a graduate school, covering 7 disciplines of engineering, science, economics, management, liberal arts, law and fine arts, proud of its 15 key disciplines in Guangxi, enjoying 3 doctoral programs, 1 joint doctoral program, 11 primary discipline master programs, Master of Business Administration (MBA), 2 professional master programs in engineering with 11 engineering master's fields of expertise, and 60 undergraduate programs.

GUET possesses about 2600 faculty and staff, of which over 200 are full professors and about 500 associate professors, with 32 doctoral tutors and over 300 teachers holding doctor degree, and 140 people enjoying provincial level fame and award.

On the campuses, there are over 28,700 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral students, junior college students and overseas students. The employment rate has remained at 93%. Additionally, GUET is one of the National College English Reform Demonstration Centers and the Superior Engineers Plan Education and Training Pilot School.

In recent years, GUET has been committed to international cooperation and exchange, establishing good cooperative relations with more than 150 universities and academic institutions in Asia, Europe, the Americas, Oceania and Africa, building strategic partnership with 78 universities, including U.S.A., U.K., Germany, France, Japan, Korea, Australia, Vietnam and Thailand. In the past 10 years, more than 1200 GUET students are studying abroad and around 3000 foreign students are pursuing their studies in GUET,covering 21 countries and regions.
