What a cool place, right at The People's Square. It's a great setting on a lake, with lilypads, and an impressive classic Chinese setting, and the food is creative and tasty. The bar upstairs is AMAZING and has a 2 for 1 drink happy hour- go there!

Very nice restaurant with very tasty food, friendly and helpful staff and good atmosphere plus location gives restaurant awesome look. Totally recommend for nice evening diner!

Nice place. Only had cocktails. Recommend the mango Mojito. If you think barbarossa sounds german (or italian), the interior design will surprise you. It's more north african / magreb style. Quite nicely done.
Try the upstairs floor.

Great bar with great location. The view over the pond, the park and the skyline are simply amazing. We wen't there for happy hour. Drinks are moderately priced then and their cocktails are really good. Can only recommend.

Really great place for all sorts of occasions. The bar with terrace is Top10 in Shanghai for an evening drink. It's always crowded. Staff is professional. Prices are average, but they have a good 2for1 deal almost every night.

Phenomenal atmosphere! It is my absolute favourite place to relax in Shanghai. Located right across the street from the J.W. Marriott hotel and nestled in the park, this restaurant sits on a beautiful pond that is as lovely at night as it is in the day. I think of Barbarossa as resembling a Moroccan take on a country club. The drink menu is very expansive, creative and written in English and Mandarin. The shisha is the best I have smoked in Shanghai, served in sturdy ornate hookahs. The curry-coated French fries and appetizers are delicious. You can sit downstairs on the pond for afternoon tea or head upstairs at night for drinks. I adored the dark evening ambient lighting, the gorgeous Moroccan decor and the professionalism of the staff. If you are tired of the Shanghai club scene, try the always upscale Barbarossa.

One of my favorite bars in Shanghai. Superb location in the heart of People Square, surrounded by trees and a pond. Nice atmosphere, and a great roof terrace. Make sure you ask Dhon to make you a margarita, or any drink you fancy. You should have a good time.
