FRIENDS’ Table Tennis Club started on June 09th 2013 and exists with the vision and mission to promote the game of table tennis (also known as Ping-Pong) and all its wonderful benefits in the city of Bamenda and in Cameroon in general to the highest level. The founder and CEO of the table tennis club, NGU Franklin A., has been so passionate about the sports that he decided to come up with this marvelous initiative in order to ignite the spirit of the table tennis game as a profession and for recreation.
The club has had several very passionate members who have been so supportive in the sports. It has hosted several competitions with very competitive players from around and outside the city of Bamenda.
Table tennis as a sport has not been very much understood in Bamenda and in Cameroon in general. There is a much deeper insight into the game than we see, especially the massive and positive contributions it adds to our health and mental capacities. Aside that it is also recognized as a profession worldwide, which can be developed as a source of living for our youths and unemployed.
The table tennis club which is presently located at NKWEN Bamenda opposite Mr. Baker, Foncha’s Street Junction, is solely out with its contributors and supporters to promote and train table tennis players of every gender and age, to understand and digest its importance and insight.
Watch out for one of our initiatives, the ABAKWA TABLE TENNIS OPEN, which is coming up in December.
