Had fun with my family. Sells freshly roasted sea food like fish, crabs, prawns etc
There are also lots of bar that serve the guests. Most of the bars and food sellers have good seats located closer to the sea which gives you very good view of the sea.
Black sand at the beach.
Down beach limbe Cameroon is a very beautiful place for family to have a good time with their love once
This place is really cool. There is a sea which gives lots of fresh air and there's an eatery beside it. The place is good for cooling your mind and taking a good walk
its at the heart of Limbe it comes alive at night the air is field the aroma of roast fish as you walk in ,the give horse rides to both adults and children at very adorable prices. The African culture is highly present with the sale of custom made jewelry, African fabric, bags ,carvings of different objects and many more. It's also a great tourist site
Down Beach, Limbe is actually know as a touristic site in Limbe. It is popularly known for its black sand which happens to be one among the very few in the world. Just by the beach are found banks, small restaurants, a place were fishes are been roasted.
The primary job of the inhabitants at down beach area are fishing for the male and the female smock fish and sell. It is mostly crowded during the weekend as we have people all over Cameroon who are visiting the beach for their first time.
Just by the beach is found the Alfred Sakers monument and the Divisional Officers office as well as drinking spots that are well reserve for VIP standard.
It's nice during the day, nicer at night.
Great location for night time relaxation to eat barbequed sea food and soak up some ocean breeze and the salty air. This beach is not for sun bathing or water sports. If you want that, you have to go a couple of miles along the beach to the twin City of Bota. Well, Bota is part of Limbeit is just on the outskirts of Limbe.
This city and beach area has a long history with missionaries that arrived from England. Alfred Saker, the old English missionary landed here and names the city Victoria after Queen Victoria of England. (If you know your history, Queen Victoria was then the monarch of England.) Yes, the city of Limbe used to be called Victoria before it's name was changed in the 1980s by politicians. (The name Limbe was chosen as there is a small river called "Limbe" that cuts through parts of the city closed to the botanical gardens.) A commemorative plaque for Alfred Saker is located just down from the beach. Limbe (Victoria) is a city with great history. Also, there is a local and excellent school called Saker Baptist College, named in honour of Alfred Saker. Visit the school if you can.
Part of the beach is being used by local fishermen that go out to see at night and land their catches during the day. In the past, the while beach was used by fishermen to land their catched during the day. Locals used to visit the beach every morning to buy fresh seafood for their families. That was because most houses in the 1970s and 1980s did not have deep freezer at home. So, they go to the beach during the day to buy fresh seafood as they were brought in by fishermen.
If you have the time, stroll down to where the customs office is. Close to that area used to be where local communities that earn their livelihood on fishing used to smoke their catch that did not sell during the day. Smoking the seafood help preserve it for line storage. That means the fishes can call sole later in to traders and middlemen who will but for reselling in the hinterlands (i.e. further inlands).
Limbe is nice and clean. The down Bhaskar variety of fish.(delicious fish)
Enjpy esting by the water and interacting witg people of limbs. Thing of a beauty. Definitely recommended.
Great views and fresh sea breeze almost always.Clean environment, in my opinion it's better in the evenings 4pm to 7pm. Roasted fish available both fresh and frozen. So be keen on your choice of fish, if you want it fresh.
Great place to eat roasted fresh fish. But its not cheap. Clean environment, good public toilet, nice ambiance with a view of the beach.
But too many interruptions from people selling their goods while one is eating.
Plus if you came with a vehicle be prepared to pay a minimal amount for parking fee.
Worth trying out
I grow up here, It's the most beautiful, clean and romantic place anyone will want to visit. Not saying this because I live here but because it's all the said it is, its beauty is natural and it's welcoming
Fun location. Fish on the beach is GREAT. People trying to seat you can be overbearing.
Well roasted fresh fish. Really tasty. But be vigilant you might be served frozen fish that are not fresh.
