Nice italian couple. They will help you with tours around Putre. The place is nice.
We booked a tour here and it was great. It was only us two and our multi-lingual guide, who was super nice. He took us to places we didn’t even know existed i in Parque National Lauca, let us take our time and provided really interesting information. We got to get up close to (and feed) a couple of alpacas, and it should be mentiones that they weren’t locked in or something, he was just kind of friends with them. Furthermore we got to get really close to both colonies of vizcachas (he knew were these colonies were just at the side of the road) and to large herds of vicuñas, and these are just a few of the highlights.
Terrace lodge also helped us book a bus to La Paz from the highway outside of Putre, AND gave us a ride there in their car so that we didn’t have to walk the 5 km at 7-8 in the morning. We were also shown the busstop, which we would otherwise not have found.
It should be mentioned that they did all of this without us even living there. The staff is supernice, the tour amazing and the lodge seemed really nice aswell. Would REALLY recommend if you’re in Putre!
Warm welcome and warm rooms!
One of the best hotels in Putre. Run by an Italian couple. Very clean, great customer service and probably the best coffee in Chile!
We stayed at the lodge for two nights to visit the Lauca national park.
The rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable, and thanks to the lodge's backup power generation and water supply we could have hot water and electricity also during the frequent blackouts and outages affecting the rest of Putre. Breakfast is also good, with real italian coffee.
Flavio, the host, was very helpful, also arranging for us the tour to the Lauca, and giving us plenty of information on the region, on the animals and plants of the Lauca, and on how to cope with the altitude.
The rooms are nice, clean and quiet with hot shower and heater. Breakfast is good and the Italian owners are very nice and helpful (English spoken too).
This is also where you go for a real italian coffee in Putre.
They organize tours (not only for guests) and sell their own map with lots of useful tips for Lauca, Vicuña and Surire.
Only a handful of rooms, reservation recommended. We could only stay one night, but went the next day for a coffee, the map to vicuña and tips for the way and where to stay after Surire.
Good place to stay, quiet and relaxed
