Good zoo with a big variety of animals.

A wonderful zoo, if not the best one, in the metropolitan region. It is very large, with multiple sections, lots of information and activities. The arthropods section is extremely good and has one of the largest collections of live tarantulas I've seen, with new and old world tarantulas. The live shows are also good, and not only entertain but also focus on conservation. Great place for a whole day.

Great Zoo, Safe Place, and it has easy parking for CLP$2000. But some animals aren't on the mood, it might be seen as they are unhappy; attention at local restaurants isn't the best and park decorations neither. The Sea animals show is by far the best except by its (large) boring monologue, People want action.

It's great they take care of injured animals and try to teach respect for wild life. It has enough bathrooms and places where to buy food and to eat your own food. Also there's a train from Estación Central that leaves you very near be careful not to miss it when coming back! Mmm, I personally think there were animals with not enough space which was kind of sad to me.

The best zoo in Chile! Wide variety in species. It took us nearly 6 hours to complete the tour. Amazing. Great ideas to interact with the animals. It's fun in its own way. Since there are plenty of animal the zoo has managed to arrange the tour in a way tha never felt like doing the same thing twice. Awesome!

Wide variety of species in a tight space.
It's a nice principle to give a home to animals that have been saved from circuses and unlawful treatment. Compared to other zoos we've visited in other countries/continents, it smells like feaces and urine and animals like the big cats are kept in small enclosures. The animals looked healthy at the time of our visit. It appears that there are lots of staff hanging around just checking their phones or having a good time chatting among themselves.
Ticket price appears fair for the time we spent there. The extra ticket for the marine show appears excessive. The show is funny but a tad too long at the end.
The souvenir shop could diversify and benefit from selling more than stuff toys and bags. For example, educational stuff like posters, books, puzzles, pencil cases and sponsorships for animals.response / report this review -
