After multiple failed attempts to visit an observatory in Chile (price or availability issues), we found this jewel! We traveled all the way from Santiago to visit them and the Maipo canyon (it's really accessible).

During the day, you can hike in the area, enjoy an asado and have a swim in their pool. For us, the real fun started at 9PM when we joined one of their astronomy tour. The owners are passionate about the stars and know how to share it other amateurs.

The first part is a short conference - we had (1) the history of astronomy in Chile and (2) the constellations for the Mapuches - and the second is all about watching the constellations through two telescope. We have had never seen stars this close (outside from photos or on TV), and it was grandiose. We were still dreaming about them sleeping in our tent!

La atención fue buena, sin embargo las imágenes de la web no se ajustan a la realidad, se veía todo muy verde y no era tan así, además los baños eran muy rústicos y tenían muchos zancudos (mosquitos)

Camping con muchas comodidades y principalmente muy tranquilo. Cuenta con piscina y con el único observatorio de la zona. En la actividad se realiza una charla por el prof. Jorge Campos Rojas y posterior a esto se hacen observaciones en el cielo, siempre y cuando el cielo se encuentre en condiciones.
