This place is awesome; my favorite restaurant from our trip to Chile. It's a small, cozy restaurant with a dozen tables or so and a short menu. However, the dishes they serve are delicious, and they have a great wine selection. All of the entrees are under 9.500 Chilean (~$16 US), which we thought was a great value. Also, they have English menus, and the waitresses speak English if needed. We enjoyed the pistachio encrusted salmon and the roast beef with mashed potatoes.

The place is great nicely decorated with a view on the lake
The soup of the day (vegetables) was great
For the rest bad or very bad: the meat in the empanadas wasn't good
And the 2 plates of fish we ordered were so bad we coudn't finish

In Puerto Varas, southern Chile, nice view over lake, good food, specially sea food. $$$. And don't forget the wine; it's good and reasonable.

OK food, but the service is poor. This because their short of staff. All in all a poor choice, specially considering there is so many other good restaurants in town.

Enviable location, friendly staff, excellent food. What more would one want. The lengthwise arrangement of the tables allows most to look over Lago Llanquihue on to Vulcan Osorno in the distance, majestic with its icecap. If you are near the glass wall, you may also see a hummingbird or two. The fish, clams, bread, and butter were all delicious. Very interestingly they also had 'chicken tikka masala' on their menu - an odd item out. My interest was piqued, but i wasn't taken in enough to actually order it.

Interesantes Restaurant, sehr modern eingerichtet. Dazu eine sehr vielfältige Speisekarte.Einfache Gerichte wie Fish and Chips werden sehr gut zubereitet. Auf der anderen Seite waren einige Gerichte auch etwas fad und trocken. Der Nachtisch war leider alles andere als gut. Der Pfannkuchen hat eher wie ein ledriger Erdbeerkaugummi geschmeckt.
Zudem war es leider sehr kühl und die drei Kellner waren etwas überfordert, sodass man mehrmals daran erinnern musste, dass man noch eine zweite Flasche Wein möchte.response / report this review -

La Jardinera mudou há pouco tempo de endereço, para a Santa Rosa 131. Ambiente muito bonito e agradável. Provavelmente o melhor restaurante de Puerto Varas.

By far the best restaurant in Puerto Varas, and among the best in Chile. Try the chicken tikka masala extra spicy (4 or 5) if you miss spicy food.

Local, farm to table. The restaurant is operated by a husband and wife team. The wife was our server and spoke English eloquently to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The bread, soup, fish, and brownie we had for dinner was nicely cooked and seasoned. Make reservations in advance.

La Jardiner is the place to go in Puerto Varas, perfect attention, great food, and a beautiful homey ambient, we go there always when we`r in town.
