  I live in Puerto Montt and have been going to La Gringa from time to time over the past couple of years. It used to be a pleasant experience but the last time (in early February 2018) was a disaster. After we had chosen our table (the restaurant was almost empty) we were gruffly shunted off to a table where we didn't really want to sit (on hard, uncomfortable chairs, while other 'locals ' were allowed to choose their own tables). My portion of carrot cake was about 3cm X 3cm X 1cm (1.5 X 1.5 X 0.5 inches). I immediately wrote to the email address on the official website but have not received a reply. That's why I'm posting this negative review.

  I would recommend the "sorrentinos de pollo" (7900$) which is served with a very good sauce. They served us some bread with olive oil as starter. The ambience is quite and very nice for a date. Best restaurant we had after 3months travelling in Chile.

  Delicious Eggs Benedicts served on homemade breadcoupled with excellent service makes this cafe worth a visit! The ONLY reason I didn't give them a 5 Star rating is due to my son's omelet being prepared WAY too salty - even for Chilean standards. We had to return it to the kitchen and the chef prepared another one that was PERFECT! #DiscoverChile

  Upscale bakery and cafe with quality desserts and a larger menu for any meal of the day. The space is chic, but a bit small for how many tables & seats they have available. Because of this and the attentive service, it feels less relaxed and caters to a fine dining experience rather than a true cafe.
  
  That all said, I enjoyed grabbing dessert and hot chocolate here, and look forward to returning for brunch.
