Well organized contemporary airport with clean open spaces. The entry exit points are well marked for easy navigation within the airport. Loads of duty free shops and restaurants to pass your time during transits. Staff is helpful but language can be a barrier at times as most only speak Spanish. Immigration may take some time so be at your gate well in time. Overall a satisfactory experience.

For medium-long stop overs checking in to the VIP salon on the 4th floor is a must. For 60USD you get delicious food, open bar, fabulous shower facilities, rest area, comfy seating and AMAZING hospitality. The seating in the airport downstairs gets uncomfy very quickly so this service was a life saver. I travel on a budget but this was worth every penny!

If you arrive in the morning when all the long distance flights from Europe get in, the line to get through customs with your luggage is a nightmare. Be prepared to queue for 30min or more. It is not the first time happening
The airport is just not designed to handle 5 long haul flights arriving at the same time.
Even the worst airports in the US are better.

This airport is roughly half the size of Miami’s International Airport. It can handle large aircraft and it’s comfortable. It added free wireless a few years ago, and it finally banned smoking in its terminals back in 07’. Keep in mind that an international airport in South America doesn’t need to be as large as its North American counterparts, due to both passenger and air traffic volume apart from available funding.

I came to visit here for about a month. Getting off the flight here was easy, fast and simple. But when you are trying to get on a flight, especially with standby tickets, it's a pain. I was trying to get on a flight with around 30 standby passengers and nearly everyday for a week, no one got on, despite being a couple open seats. Not to mention, everything is expensive. The restaurant in the main terminal has really slow service, even though there were almost 10 waiters around. There's no noticeable free wifi around. And every single thing here cost money. Nothing free. And there's a lot of people here that steal from others when they're not paying attention to their luggage or sleeping. So if you miss your flight or if it's full, pay for a hotel rather than risking your luggage

Australians BEWARE. When you arrive you will be made to pay a "reciprocity tax" of around $115 US on arrival. There is one slow cashier that takes the money so if you come with a plane load of aussies expect up to an hour wait. When leaving on LATAM any bottled water will be confiscated just before you enter the plane. There is no notice of this and no logical reason given. No airport shop owner will tell you when you buy it. It is quite a scam and didn't happen to us anywhere else on 10 flights in south america.

Travellers arriving to Santiago international airport - BEWARE! We arrived late about 9.30pm from Ecuador on Oct 12, 2017. Processing was slow we exited about 10.15pm. We also had to get some Chilean money for the taxi. Our driver we had ordered was not there. A well dressed Chilean man in a suit, came to ask us in English if we were ok. He was walking about with a walkie talkie, he looked and acted like he was helping tourists to transport - there is usually a person in this role in most big airports in South America. He said he would help us. He ordered a car to come on his walkie talkie. We got in and then he did too. The driver, drove at speed towards Santiago. The suited man made sexual remarks to us. They dropped us in a poorly lit area and demanded all our cash - which wasn't much(luckily). Please if you are approached by a man like this at Santiago airport - do not go with him. His English is very natural, he was sympathetic to us, being stuck there. We could've got any taxi but he insisted he would find the best transport option for us. We have travelled a lot and know the risks but this guy was not sleazy at the airport, he was the most dangerous con man, because he was so believable. It was late and we were tired. We all get tricked sometimes, these people make a career out of it. Please post if anyone has had a similar experience with a man fitting this description at this airport.

Usually one would rate based on one single experience like of the most people have done here but that wouldn't be critcal thinking and thus not helpful. This airport impresses.
Chile's international airport is not one of the biggest in the world but it gets the job done nicely. it's very easy to get around, the process of checking in and boarding the airplane is relatively simple. You arrive, go through the doors and you'll have the check in nicely assisted by employees who are willing to guide you at every time.response / report this review -

Not a bad airport, staff are incredibly friendly and super helpful. It was super easy to get around and not time consuming at all.
They really need to work on the food hall though as McDonald's and Starbucks as these particular outlets are some of the most expensive that we've visited since being here (£9 for a single, wet sandwich and a hot chocolate from Starbucks) and a £6 guacamole burger meal from McDonald's.

Nice airport. About 25 mins from the El golf area in Santiago without traffic. Business lounges are hard to find being downstairs and poorly marked. Ruby Tuesday's and dunkin donuts available in the international terminal. Local artisan craft store near gate 12 downstairs is very nice. Duty free is huge. If you fly business class the immigration line is upstairs and quite short. Really cool bucket return system in the x Ray area.

Nice airport and quite efficient. You can get there by bus from the center (approx. 40-50minutes) that costs 1700 ch$. Passport control took about 15 minutes and although the queue looks long, it goes fast. Better to wait for your flight after the security control, because there are plenty of cafes and restaurants.

I trusted to the people with the valid staff card to guide me to take money and taxi in reasonable prices the result was that the Taxi was at least 4 or 5 times more expensive than the usual ones. I've heard that such story happened for my colleagues. It is still weird for me why the cops don't make any actions if it is usual
I don't mean that you should be pessimist about the staff but please try understand what is going on and don't trust blindly. For having an approximate price of a Taxi, it does not cost you more than 20,000 Chili pestos.response / report this review -

Easy airport to navigate, customs is a breeze, hotels are close by and have a free shuttle (use it, the cab drivers will argue fiercely that you have to pay for a ride) and the bus into town is CHEAP!

Nice little airport. The free Wi-Fi is fast. Took no time to pass through immigrations and customs. Very simple layout. Security is also quite quick to pass through.

Good airport. I liked the design and airiness. Really long security lines tho! One of the biggest I've waited through. So I do recommend being there early for your flights! Needs better wifi also.
