  The difficulties encountered and previously commented can arrive at any resort in Cote d'Ivoire. At this time, the resorts owner and operator has assembled a good team.

  Staff and owner are thieves - AVOID ! ! ! !
  
  Me and my husband stayed there a couple of nights. Although the scenery is beautiful, you have got to be careful of the staff. In the morning, they will ask you your room keys to clean your bungalows. We assumed that it was safe because they asked for the keys and, with European prices, you would expect a serious service. We come back the night to find that some our our things that we left in the room were stolen (computer and internet key). When we tried to resolve the matter with the owner, we found out that they DO NOT take any responsibility of the belongings of the guest that stays overnight - we were really disappointed and our holiday was ruined.
  
  Moreover, our bungalows had broken curtain poles and the smell of humidity is EXTREMELY strong. They give you only 2 small towels and 1 small soap, and no bath mat. Water and electricity also got cut off during our stay, that is pretty normal in Abidjan, but not in a place that charge £50 a night!
  
  Breakfast and in general, all the standard of this place DO NOT MATCH the price - pretty decadent french style!
  
  Gran Bassam is an awsome place but go somewhere else to stay. Just 3 words for la Maison du la lagune: AVOID AVOID AVOID
