ICSA is the best English speaking school in Abidjan.
It recovered very well from the Côte d'Ivoire crisis and has now a solid attendance and good teaching staff.
The school is now IB certified and the curriculum won't surprise anyone used to the American way of teaching.
Its average MAP scores compares well to any American school in Africa (about 20% above African average) but is still under European average.
If you come or live in Abidjan and are looking for an English speaking/American curriculum, it is the place to go.
There is a lot of room for improvement though. Continuous improvement is underway, and the school benefits and will benefit from any constructive feedback and involvement from parents having the experience of previous American schools of higher standards and better infrastructure.
My children love the school. The bungalow/open air architecture gives it an air of holidays they appreciate and de-dramatizes the walled environment Abidjan is in. The school is a green, wide expanse where children can experience freedom of movement and escape from the somewhat claustrophobic life style walled expats tend to live in Abidjan.response / report this review -
