I had just landed from Chicago and went to relax and recharge after the long flight. It was perfect! Clean, soothing and relaxing. The 9 step process was perfect. Call ahead of you want a massage. Must be comfortable with opposite sex nudity, although not totally overt.

A sauna, steamroom and large hammam stone make up the core of this great spa experience. The sauna is medium sized and hot and the steamroom is filled with varying fragrances and is large. In between you can warm yourself on the large hammam stone in the center of the space. Off to the sides are showers and scrubbing stations. Stadtbad is centrally located and offers good value for the money. Separate is a relaxing room with newspapers, magazines (in German) and along the walls are couches where you can relax. Tea, coffee, drinks and light snacks are available.

With spas poping up in Zurich like mushrooms in autumn, each of them has something special.
In the Volkshaus hammam they give you a pot full of mud to use at the end of your visit. You need to cover your body with it and relax for 20min. After that there are showers with Lebanese soap made with black olives to bring the hidratation back to your skin. It isan amazing experience!
The hot stone that covers the full common area is very relaxing and the sauna with cold swimming pool and freezing water bucket far-west style brings some fun to the visit!
Definitely an awesome experience to have in a dark winter Sunday afternoon!response / report this review
