Yesterday we planned for a full day on ebikes to ride from Zermatt to Rifflealp. I paid for a full day hire of 2 full suspension e-bikes. 10 min later about 900m from the shop my wife’s rear tyre was flat to the rim. We walked back to the shop. They said we had to pay for the replacement tube. I didn’t think that was fair. They said if it happened again we would have to pay for it. I was surprised at this and decided to forego the planned day and said I’d like my money back and cancel the rental. The manager said we could cancel the day but needed to pay the 4 hour rental fee instead. This is about 90% of the full day fee. I disagreed. I explained that this was unusual to be expected to pay for the tube and for a tyre to catastrophically deflate in 10min. His technician produced a fine peice of metal the size of an eyebrow hair and said it was the cause. The tyre should have lasted the day with that fine fibre still in the tube IMO. The manager finally agreed to not charging us for the day but still charged us 18USD for the tube. You be the judge. If you’re happy with this arrangement then you will love this store. By the way, the manager said it could happen within 10m of the shop. Is there another side to this story? Yes but it’s substantially same.
Freundliches Personal, gute Bike Vermietung, Bikes sind in sehr gutem Zustand.
They have everything that you need for bike rentals and more
Very friendly staff here with a good selection of things to buy and gear to rent. Rented some skis and boots for my son. Quick turnaround and cheap enough.
Hired my ski gear here for some summer skiing. Really friendly service and reasonable prices. A bit of a walk to the lift station but worth it to not pay mountain prices for rental. I forgot my goggles and the guy lent me his, great place thanks.
