Very friendly and accommodating pub. I had a hearty and traditional (or so I'm told) meal of pork knuckle with potato salad, washed down with amber ale (brewed there). Just what I needed after a long day of waking around Basel. A great spot.

We turned up without a reservation and they found us a space on a sharing table. I told them I fancied a side as a main, maybe with cheese. They made it happen.

Great service, rustic but tasty food and a price that doesn't break the bank.

Awesome, sunny patio, great beer selection and a large menu. The veal with buttered pasta was delicious.

Very accommodating, hospitable, arrived @ 18:00 and was seated without reservation but its advised to call ahead to confirm. Food came quickly, refreshed the beer and we were happy. Bread was also very tasty! Many spoken languages and English too! Seems a family affair and we liked this.
Only thing was I am use to German beer and the Swiss version is soft but completely enjoyable, so eh, go and enjoy!

Many memories of nights out here when I lived in Basel in the late 90s. Had my 22nd birthday in this pub.

Microbrewery established 1974. Serves their own beers and you can also eat very well. The ambiance is still somewhat history but was refreshed and renovated in ~2012. The brewing installation is partially visible from the drinking hall. Reservation is recomended for groups > 4.
