Very nice experience...
traditional Swiss Fondue... just exact portion...
Magical desserts...
Heart breaking view... you can see Lac Leman, all Lausanne just down below also the French coast.
The service is average... and the big drawback is that the Chalet inside is very hot... I mean super hot... important to prepare for the temperature difference between inside and outside specially on the way out...
Nice location and great view over Lausanne. The restaurant is a typical Swiss wooden chalet, I would say it can host 200+ people.
For this reason, I guess, the service is very slow, although I have to say that the clerks were ok.
Certainly a good place to go with a large group, however I wouldn't go there with my family or a small group. Food is average, I found the fondue to be too salty and heavy compared with other places in Lausanne and no particular care for detail.
This place's been the best for raclettes and fondues in Lausanne for me for quite a while. Friendly and professional staff. Great with or without the kids. Easy to park. Great atmosphere. Can be a bit noisy when crowded. Beside cheese menus, there's plenty to choose from.
They have really nice cheese fondue! The seats outside (with nice view of city of Lausanne) were all booked when I went here during summer. Great place to enjoy fondue and sunset at the same time.
Great fondue! Good variety of types.
Not really used to having the waiter tell me he is too busy and getting annoyed while we were trying to decide. A simple I come back in minute would work. Swiss service lives up to its name again.
Highly recommend for the views and definitely the fondue. So many varieties to please the veggie palette too. Plus it's a good idea for a good walk down hill after the heavy cheesy stuffing :)
Excellent fondue and bread. Nice ambience.
Great food and service
The CONSUMMATE fondue place in Lausanne! Le Chalet Suisse features not only outstanding traditional fondue but also a seasonal menu of innovative fondue variations that always make it so hard to decide. Situated above the city proper, Le Chalet Suisse also features an amazing view of Lac Leman, which is spectacular at twilight.
We had a lovely experience last night. Lovely setting. Very traditional Swiss experience. We had the fondue for three people and it was delicious, a bit rich for those of us not used to that much cheese but would highly recommend the experience.
The restaurant was not very easy to locate, but the food and service was amazing. We were served by a French guy who just started there recently. He spoke fluent English and was extremely helpful and friendly. Food was great - we had fondue (of course!), Raclette, and some cured meats. We were shown around the other rooms in the restaurant as well after dinner. It was at night so we couldn't see much but they recommended going there in the day time as the view from the hill was supposed to be stunning.
